Of everything, this is low on the list of things to be annoyed about. While there were probably better ways, this is an area used for gatherings and DC being DC, it is pretty marshy and unusable as a lawn. There have been plans for a long time to do something like this.
Also the actual roses were in the bushes on the side.
I’m pretty sure they did actually get rid of a lot of the flowers anyway and got rid of things they shouldn’t have, but the layout of it isn’t so drastically changed and the lawn can easily be replaced.
Honestly it’s more symbolic of what this regime has done to America

More importantly, this will be easily undone later, unlike much of the other damage he has done or plans to do. Compared to those things, I can’t get too worked up over this.
