Ever thinking of fat shaming?

Obesity is a curable disease that people are self responsible for. Drug addicts are shamed and no one cares. Even peoples height (which they have zero control over) is shamed and no one bats an eye. Im not saying you should be rude to overweight people, but there are ridiculous double standards.

Many people care, and why would that make it okay?
nebulaone@lemmy.world 1 day ago
I never said it made it okay. What you are doing is straw man rhetoric, a manipulative strategy to discredit someone.

I don’t shame addicts or small or large people either. I only shame those, who find it funny to shame others.

Another point I want to make is that body positivity is evil. Telling obese people they are healthy and should feel good about it should be a crime. Are these body positivity people going to cheer on someones first diabetic amputation?

That’s good, I don’t either, although people might claim otherwise.

Obesity is responsible for many dying much earlier than the normal life span. Though many here want to deny it. If you care about a person who is obese you wouldn’t tell them you’re fine and no need to lose weight. BUT if you encounter obese people you should never say anything about their appearance. And no smirks or dirty looks either. You have no idea what is going on in their life that got them to this point. The cruelest think is supporting an obese person by telling them it’s just fine. It’s no different then telling an obviously anorexic person that they look great and aren’t too skinny

I completely agree.

counterpoint, fat shaming exists and is just as prevalent (probably more so) than heigh shaming. Another note: The countries with the highest amount of obesity are also the countries with the least amount of regulation and taxes on food processing. Just the same how the countries with the highest rates of drug problems are the ones who don’t focus on rehabilitation and prevention as much as criminalization.

Look, most people know that eating 50 burgers isn’t healthy, so stop putting the blame on others.

You genuinely think that a majority of obese people are obese because they eat large amounts of food at a time, and not due to the large amounts of trans-fats and corn syrup used in processed foods? Sounds to me like you’ve never been poor honestly. Never been in a country where natural food is expensive and hard to come by. Consider yourself blessed and keep being ignorant if you so pleasem
