cm0002@lemmy.world 21 hours agoEven on an individual level, like what is the point of blocking someone if they can still fully interact with your posts and comments, just you can’t see it.
That’s a mute, when Xitter tried (or did? Idr) to downgrade their actual block to essentially the same thing that Lemmy has now it was met with outrage.
Proper blocking should be a core feature of any social media, it’s not a ‘nice to have’ feature that can be developed when there’s time for it

That’s not really an excuse to half ass it, there’s lots of things a rouge instance could do and that’s one of many reasons defederation is a thing
