Comment on There is a user that shows up even though they are blocked.

This was a case of a single user who was blocked, but showing posts external to lemmy.world (my instance) but successfully blocking on the home instance. MrKaplan looked into it and there was a sync issue with their instance and the user had duplicate records at lemmy.world so I had to block both.

Interesting… Now I am wondering if some of the blocked users I’ve been seeing again is because of that same problem and not just because I switched apps recently. I was under the impression that perhaps my block list was specific to Jerboa and not actually added to my Lemmy profile universally.

When I did a search by user in settings after MrKaplan’s reply I saw they were listed twice with the same instance/name. Added the second one too and now there are two Blocked entries and all comments blocked.
