Literally the worst part of the entire title. People should know what they want to know, and those without any interest in Islam shouldn’t know anything.

Not really. Like the trinity is a core tenant of Christianity but no one really needs to know about that to understand Christianity.
The whole question is about societal implications of the religion. If we were all Muslim, no one would need to know anything.
