SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 year agoIDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) is the more commonly known name for what was actually called Parallel AT Attachment (shortened from Parallel AT Bus Attachment).
The newer drive standard, SATA means Serial AT Attachement.

Yes - I understand explaining a joke ruins it and the fact that it needed to be explained means it wasn’t a very good joke in the first place.
