Hamas’ terrorism is bad, but it’s also a predictable result of treating Palestinians like subhuman cattle for generations. Israel had the power to prevent situations like this, but they used it to oppress instead.

DistractedDev@lemmy.world 8 months agoAlright yeah Israel is worse, but that isn’t what people are talking about right now. It’s possible to support the Palestinians but not Hamas. Fighting back is fine, but targeting civilians isn’t. If they had just attacked the actual oppressors, the conversation would be completely different.

You could say the exact same thing about Israel. This isn’t a gotcha when Israel has been killing civilians for decades in their apartheid.
