  She isn’t in the US as a refugee. She is here on a J-1 visa for academic reasons. There’s no indication she is in particular danger in Russia.

    Romanovsky has also filed an asylum petition contending that Petrova has a “well-founded fear of future persecution” if she were deported from the U.S., given her past political activism criticizing the Kremlin for its war in Ukraine.

    “She cannot return to Russia without being jailed or harmed,” Romanovsky said. “It’s going to be a suicide for her to go back.”

        Man, the reading comprehension level in this place is shockingly poor.

        Did I make a statement of fact? No. No I didn’t.

        I’m made an argument about a future state of the world. Its that she’ll be dying, because effectively this is a death sentence.
