Ifera@lemmy.world 9 hours agoAllegedly, he was aware of Harvey Weinstein’s abuse, at least according to Rose McGowan. And since a lot of people are reactionary as fuck, since she accused him of being aware, then they act and behave as if he was undoubtedly aware and complicit in it.

The things is, EVERYONE was aware. But he was so powerful, and literally controlled everyone’s future. What was he supposed to do?

But seriously, it is far easier being on the outside, pointing and casting blame, but for us old enough to remember all the people who were blackballed, run out of the business, and even murdered for exposing sexual abuse, it is hard to tell.
And on top of that, there are cases where a third party has exposed the abuse, to which both the victim and perpetrator deny the accusations, and it just ends up terribly for the whistleblower.
Yet, back to the point, we’re on
