toy_boat_toy_boat@lemmy.world 15 hours agoi’ve done the same, and old markup formatting makes shit look stupid unless you take time to comb over it in preview. it’s kinda part of the reason i don’t like it that lemmy won’t let you do ninja edits.

I don’t know if I just blocked the troublemakers early, but I haven’t seen any of the sniping over edits that was occasionally there on Reddit, at least. But yeah, I get annoyed when I have to edit a whole comment just because of formatting or a typo.

i don’t think i ever saw one of those edits go unnoticed, though, and they were usually pretty funny whether intentional or not. i just want 30 seconds or so to go ‘oh fuck’ and add a hyphen sometimes.
