the fediverse isn’t exactly a cure-all to the situation, it doesn’t solve economic problems about costs of hosting, moderating, legal compliance, etc. nor user behavioral problems … it works well for some of us, and not at all for others

While the fediverse structure does put more work onto the users, that is in trade for having people who want the system to be for the benefit of the users. It is also the closest to the original purpose of the internet!
