Mention that it’s “interesting” and you’ll be getting (in this lore) magical messages while you’re trying to sleep: “And praying matises have what is called a psudopupil. It’s not actually a pupil, but an optical illusion that makes it look like a pupil that is always following you. What it actually is, is that their eyes are these tube-like structures. You only see black, or the ‘pupil’, when you can look directly down the tube. Otherwise, you’re not looking directly down the tube and instead seeing the tube’s inner wall. The overall effect is that it looks like it has a pupil that is always looking at you.”
