What you’re essentially saying is, we should let something terrible continue to happen, causing many real people (often children) to actually die, because some people are paranoid about something that isn’t happening… In reality, government’s need they’re civilians. Especially in late-stage capitalist societies were civilians act as value generators or cannon fodder for the ruling class. The more people they have to feed into their profit machines, the better.
There are many counter arguments to the sentiment you shared that show how silly your stance is. I won’t waste my time writing all of them because I think you’re too steeped in your own soup to consider anything that counters what you already believe.

We now live in cages, carefully crafted by laws & legislation over time. I am never shocked or surprised when governing powers place laws on commoners, anything to put their boot on our neck, nail down our identity for verification, or most importantly extract money from our bank accounts to give to the state to be wasted.

Not unintentionally correct…because that was my very intentional point.
In spite of car manufacturers claiming seatbelts and air bags were unnecessary, the sheer number of resulting deaths caused us to actually do something about it. I don’t look at the lack of driver’s licenses as anything approaching a rosy past. I will never be sympathetic to the argument that a lack of common sense safety regulations which saves lives somehow grants us more freedom (other than to abdicate all of your freedoms instantaneously via early death, which overwhelmingly impacts the poor and marginalized); sorry.
