Comment on How did a simple phone call become so problematic?
lightnsfw@reddthat.com 4 weeks agoI’m not projecting, I’m giving you my perspective. You can ignore it if you wish but there’s a subset of people who your behavior is pissing off. Spontaneous conversation isn’t as fun a time for everyone as you seem to think it is.

And my perspective is that if you’re going to get pissed off about things like this then you should probably have a long hard look at yourself in the mirror lol.
Also in my experience it’s not that hard to play the field and figure out when people you are talking to want to talk or want to just get straight to the point. 🤷🏻

And just why should I change? I’m not asking anything of anyone other than to be left alone. It’s broadly accepted that no one wants to hear their fucking phone ring unless it’s something very important. I don’t know of a single person in my friend group that doesn’t agree on this. Maybe it’s you that needs to get with the times.
We haven’t even touched on the fact that I can type faster and more clearly than I can speak and read faster than anyone I know can talk. Then there’s the paper trail aspect where you can refer back to what was said in a text or email vs. having to also take notes in a written conversation which if there ends up being a conflict about what was said later is now a he said she said situation.
