Is this “antifa” in the room with us?
- Comment on lemmyusa.com is engaging in vote manipulation, suggest defederating unless it is addressed. 5 days ago:
They banned me too. This feels like obvious vote manipulation to me. A small group of individuals or one prolific sock puppeteer is spreading conservative news articles of the Heritage Foundation. People are rejecting the message but mod(s) want to strong arm their opinion onto the rest of us. Hiding behind “serial downvoting” is an excuse so they can ban any dissenting opinions while screeching about the left shutting them down. They’ve been running that same bag on lemmy.today for as long as DonaldJMusk has had an account. They must have gotten tired of the downvotes and rebooted their comm somewhere else under a new name to liven things up. But it failed.
They’re dragging the name of the original !conservative2@lemmy.today through the mud. The comm wanted to make a space for non-MAGA Republicans and saw a bit of success (compared to other GOP comms) and now it’s just another source of Heritage/MAGA propaganda.

You’re right, we already have a goal. There’s no way we can do 2 things at once or one after another… Just impossible. Thank you for your insight.

No, but there was a shooting of 3 innocent students in Colorado today and now you know what happened to them. And the Uvalde students… Dozens of them…

This is pro-republican. 14 of 27 states with republican governors have successfully pushed forward with conservative law. This is a success!

- Comment on California city bans non-government flags, angering LGBTQ groups 1 year ago:
Government offices should fly 2 flags: state and country. While I like the idea of a government building running a pride flag, I’m willing to give that up to never see a confederate flag fly again.

I think it was MatPat on YouTube who said that Disney knows this and included that specific Mickey in their trademark as a way to protect it under different laws.

My family has a cabin. We’ve literally built it all by hand except for the cement foundation. It’s legit, signed off as meets code and everything. I brought a pride flag up knowing it might ruffle my grandparents feathers but I planned to talk to them respectfully. Before my grandparents ever saw it, my parents and uncle sat me down and said “we’re not going to allow that” and even going as far as saying “if you leave the flag here, we’re going to destroy it.” I didn’t fight them. I left. And despite my blood, sweat, and tears going into that cabin, I’m never going back.
I told them it wasn’t as simple as a difference of opinion, it was a difference in morality. They agreed.
I like the “tolerance is a social contract” approach to a tolerant society. My wife and I are thinking of growing our family. We both don’t want to subject a future child of ours to my family’s beliefs so we’re effectively estranged and I think my parents are slowly finding out we mean business and it’s not just “their kid throwing a fit.” Call me snowflake all you want, my child won’t hear it.
