- Comment on How did you guys deal with the death of a parent? 2 weeks ago:
I lost my mum 19 years ago. I’ve learned that the pain is a signal that I truly loved her, and I still do but time diminishes the hurt. I’ve learned that she still lives on in my thoughts, “what would mum do?”, I reflect on tricky issues, and she’s back in my world, just not physically. I notice I’ve inherited some of her mannerisms the more I age, so she’s never far away and continuing to persist through me. It sounds as if your dad raised you to be a caring, loving thinker. He’s succeeded, he’d be proud. Now take a deep breath and carry his legacy forward.

if it’s for construction use, Bonsai is an incredibly powerful BIM solution that can also output 2D. Bonsai is probably the most complete IFC compliant (and native) system available.
- Comment on UK government announces tender for live facial recognition technology 1 year ago:
In 1998 i was part of a project team that included the Met Police’s IT R&D team. Those guys had a novel facial recognition system then, that was trialled in Clarendon Road in Watford. The results were not good, but the reason for canning it was that the civil liberties groups were going nuts and threatening mayhem. I cannot believe that 26 years later they haven’t already implemented it and been using it for some time.

So unless they can shoot with impunity, they won’t fulfill their oath to serve and protect the public. Feels like we’re being held hostage.
