- Comment on Upscaling is actually good (as an option) 1 week ago:
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone say that upscaling OPTIONS are bad but I’m worried about games like monster hunter where upscaling and frame gen is used to make the game playable in most cases.
- Comment on Silent Hill f has been banned in Australia, and no one knows why 1 week ago:
Didn’t even know this existed lol, crazy how decentralised the game industry has become now that e3 is gone. There’s no official “time to announce your games” part of the year anymore.
- Comment on How likely is the US government going to identify and arrest every online user who have disagreed with the current administration? 1 week ago:
I hate to be all doom and gloom but if the government decided tomorrow that disagreeing with trump was a crime then it’s probably already too late for you.
The amount of information about people online is pretty shocking and no amount of cleaning up after yourself could save you at this point.
On the other hand, it probably won’t devolve that fast so you’re probably ok?
- Comment on ARK DLC Trailer Slammed For Being Made Entirely Through Gen AI 2 weeks ago:
Don’t really care that it’s genAI but It’s really weird that the only part of the trailer that’s obviously gameplay is the first few seconds…
- Comment on Marvel Rivals Game Director And Others Laid Off Just Months After The Hero Shooter Took Over The Charts [Update] 1 month ago:
My understanding was that this little 6 man team did work on the game in an r&d role, testing stuff for levels, characters etc. So they weren’t a useless team, but I doubt they were as big a deal as the media is making out.
- Comment on Linux hits exactly 2% user share on the October 2024 Steam Survey 4 months ago:
I could swear it was higher earlier this year/last year but looking at the survey results, Linux climbed to 2% this survey. I think maybe that half remembered headline was something like “Linux is higher than MacOS at 1.5% market share” or something like that instead?

Ahh! Of course! The problem with Concord was the price! That’s why no one cared during its free beta weekend!
- Comment on If you work for a gig app in the US they make you go thru this charade when doing taxes where you're treated and taxed as an independent business owner. joke country 1 year ago:
Your completely correct but Google also tells me that, at least in the case of Uber, it will calculate the tax for the ride and you just have to report it to the government at the end of the month. Also there are some really cheap accountants you can use over here and I’m sure they exist overseas as well, but I suppose I don’t know OP’s financial situation and neither of these are free.

In Australia my employer reports my income and does all the tax before I get paid. Then at tax time I go to the Aus tax office website; review it, add any claims I want to make and submit it.
This is an American solution to an American problem.
