I’m the 4th guy (love screamo and post hardcore though) but people think “all over” means I don’t pay attention when it’s the opposite.
I get appreciation and love the music of Jack White as much as Mariah Carey. My playlists drive my friends and family wild.
I usually answer the question with questions to describe music I like that’s in the same ballpark as them. My FIL loves CCR and Jimmy Buffett, but about as close as I can get to that is John Mellencamp. We then talk about Johny Cougar and have some good conversations. Sometimes they’ll open up a step after that and we can talk about other stuff.

They said, at “the” door. If your house has multiple doors, then it’s a habit and memory activity to remember to change shoes.

Not everyone lives in an apartment with 1 door.

Not that it excuses it but before AI claims this work, it’s likely being done by slaves and their slavers will not care except to know that your number is active.
- Comment on OpenAI says it’s “impossible” to create useful AI models without copyrighted material 9 months ago:
The amount of second hand content an LLM needs to consume to train inevitably includes copyrighted material. If they used this thread, the quotes OP included would end up in the training set.
The amount of fan forums and wikis on copy written material provide copious amounts of information about the stories and facilitate the retelling. They’re right that it is impossible for a general purpose LLM.
My personal experience so far though has been that general purpose and multiple modality LLMs are less consistently useful to me than GPT4 was at launch. I think small, purpose built LLMs with trusted content providers have a better chance of success for most users, but we will see if anyone can make that work given the challenge of bringing users to the right one for the right task.

How did I not respect others?
I’m American, so I legitimately forgot other nations refer to social security retirement plans as pensions when I wrote that.

Retirement sounds like hell to me and has long seemed merely like a way to convince massive amounts of the population to delay taking earnings (pensions) or indirectly give their money to hedge fund managers to operate against their interests.
- Comment on How did living in caves not backfire on cavemen? 1 year ago:
We are finding evidence of pre-Homo Sapiens structures. Wooden structures typically rot. “Cavemen” is a misnomer from the evidence survivorship bias.
Also notable is your claim they were less intelligent. Human intelligence hasn’t dramatically increased genetically or biologically. Human knowledge has dramatically increased since the invention of writing recently in our history. Creativity and problem solving are highly evolved in our species and we have contemporary evidence of huge ability to transmit knowledge through oral transmission and the influence of tribal tradition.
