- Comment on 📚 Ruminating on eReaders: Rambling thoughts and memories of my first two eReaders, the Kindle Keyboard and Kindle Voyage 13 hours ago:
My Kindle is significantly lighter than my phone which makes it easier to hold for long stretches. The screen is bigger and I can render the text a little larger without sacrificing too much. The screen doesn’t produce light on it’s own which reduces eyestrain. My Kindle has a warm nightlight which I hope helps me sleep better. The page turn buttons are better placed than the volume buttons
I’ve read for hundreds and hundreds of hours on both phone and Kindle and the Kindle is absolutely worth the cost for me (once it’s hacked). I hope there are better and more open options available when it finally dies.

- Comment on The big Call to Arms update for Valheim is out now 3 weeks ago:
Yes! I’ve done 2 or 3 “playthroughs” now and enjoyed it every time. There is still one more environment the devs have promised so might be worth waiting for that to drop. Valheim has great vibes and great gameplay. The grind has improved (somewhat) with new items and there has been a lot of new content added since you last played. I definitely recommend. It’s always better with friends so hopefully you can convince them to join you.

Well fuck, temporary my ass, I was really hoping this wouldn’t normalize such a dirty energy production method but this strongly suggests we’ll see a lot more of it around the world as the Great AI buildout continues ☹️

I know better than to assume that anything posted to 4chan actually happened, but I also know from personal experience that moments just like this one DO happen to people. So even if this particular story is a fiction or was intended to serve some other purpose, it’s portraying a familiar moment for many people and I wanted to acknowledge that and encourage people to seek better help.
- Comment on Anon goes to therapy 8 months ago:
I feel like I need to say that if this was your experience you had a really shit therapist and deserve better. I’ve felt like this with a therapist before and it’s terrible. It’s ok to drop a therapist over this and try a different one.

Are you asking this because you feel strongly about it?
- Comment on Disney's Snow White | Official Trailer 9 months ago:
I sounds to me like you’re trying to bait a discussion on the ethics of whether people “should” change the race/orientation/gender of characters in stories. It reads more like a statement of fact to me. Humans just tend to model characters in stories on themselves, regardless of the origin of the story. There’s a million examples, here’s one you’re probably familiar with. sc.edu/uofsc/…/conversation_white_jesus.php What role does the color of Jesus’s skin play in Christianity? What role does Snow White’s skin color play in the story? Why or when would it be immoral to change those details?

- Comment on Why is goverment debt not calculated as a % of tax revenues instead of GDP? 1 year ago:
I think it is measured and professionals who work in areas where this was relevant probably track this number among many others. I think the real question you are asking is why it is always framed as a % of GDP in public discussion and news reporting. Some people here point out how % of GDP can be more useful for comparing across countries with vastly different sized economies but I think we all know the real answer has more to do with how people perceive the value differently by using the larger number. Framing government debt as a % of GDP serves the zeitgeist, whatever that is.
