I can’t tell if this is about it being temporary in the sense of it being gone when he’s dead or whether it is about him (eventually) dying after having got a tattoo.

As a rule, when speculating etymological relations, always look at the spelling rather that the pronunciation, since the latter tends to change a lot more quickly. English, of course, is an extreme case of this; during the Great Vowel Shift spellings stayed much the same while most vowels changed to the point of becoming unrecognisable. This is why English spelling makes no sense.

Remember to always provide context when describing pronunciation in English. The letter u may be realised /jʉw/ (“use”), /ʉw/ (“rule”), /ɵ/ (“put”) and /ʌ/ (“cut”), of which only the last one is a valid approximation.

five bits would only leaves us with six punctuation marks (including spaces, and we don’t get any numerals either) though, do you think that’s enough? i certainly don’t; i have not even used spaces and I have already exceeded it!

Based on the rates of correct guesses—and rigorous mathematical analysis—Shannon determined that the information content of typical written English was around 1.0 to 1.2 bits per letter.

I’d say roughly 1,000 to 100,000, depending on format.

“délète” feels more likely. Also, “tweeteaux” is clearly a plural. F-
