- Comment on Logging In Was Never Supposed to Be This Complicated 2 weeks ago:
I don’t even want to comment on the fact that everything gets very very hard for older people. My mother calls me every time some application changes the authentication method and almost never understands why the change is needed.

Would be nice to know how to legally violate workers’ rights, dear journalists.

What the fuck is this, AI slop? Android 15 is very old by now, yet this article is from today (Jan 24 2026) and saying it’s not yet out!

Only in America.
- Comment on Nothing’s new bloatware includes Facebook services that can’t be uninstalled 10 months ago:
Nothing says ‘I’m shitty’ more than naming yourself ‘Nothing’. Oh, wait, using meta/facebook makes you even shittier.
- Comment on Why can't we have a static vintage web? 11 months ago:
You don’t have to know or write plain HTML. There are plenty of static page generators that take markdown and generate a site for you. Also, boring is good and yes, read once and don’t care next is also good: it’s how books work for thousands of years. If you like a site or article/post you’ll get back to it sometime, if not that’s OK.

- Comment on Mozilla says its new Firefox terms don’t give it ownership of your data 1 year ago:
Sync works, but pay attention to the fact that even if you self host it the authentication is still done on Mozilla’s servers.

- Comment on Vivaldi polishes its browser, adds a dashboard • The Register 1 year ago:
In fact Opera were more ahead of their times, because they were the first to add tabs and had a lot of features that we now take for granted. I know this because I used Netscape browser (before they were called mozilla) and Opera 4.x at the time.
- Comment on Why does Olympic Breakdancing get top 40 music, while other events get a lot of royalty free stuff? 2 years ago:
Hmmm. A Ukrainian girl used Michael Jackson’s Thriller during her rhythmic gymnastics number. I don’t think that’s royalty free. And the US artistic swimming team used Smooth Criminal, also by Michael Jackson.

- Comment on [TechHut] my favorite app (Neofetch) is dead 2 years ago:
Why is it so hard for the newer generations to just wrote a short article about what they want to say? It’s so boring watching clips that say so little…
- Comment on The Paradox of Blackmarket Wired Bluetooth Apple headphones. 2 years ago:
I don’t understand why you don’t blame Apple first of all for their methods of locking up open standards and/or modifying them just enough that non-apple products won’t work.
I don’t support Chinese companies for doing shitty products, but fuck Apple for everything they do to lock you in their “ecosystem.”
- Comment on I hate using mobile to read articles 2 years ago:
Firefox + uBlock does wonders.
