Not necessarily, with “genetic drift” random phenotypic changes can happen that have a neutral effect on fitness. So if they don’t need side-facing eyes, then this can just happen randomly. Especially if the sideways eyes are in some way “costly” to maintain

Does anyone else just shuffle them around every few months to a new place, just to feel productive? I had them in a bookmarks folder for a while, then saved in a desktop folder, and just last week i consolidated them in a LinkWarden repo

I guess the joke is that the author sees humans as the most invasive species (which, as an aside, is a bad take when you think about indigenous peoples of our species)
