Cool.
Do it with Murdoch owned news outlets.
- Comment on Do 9-5 jobs still exist in the U.S.? 6 months ago:
Covid happened and gave me work from home.
The order to return to office happened and I said no.
In the back and forth, I defined my official schedule as 9 to 5.
Now, typically I work late a night or 2 a week so I start work a couple hours late/stop work a couple hours early a night or 2 a week.

And there is my tidbit about blowing up Palestinians instead of ensuring Americans have potable water.
- Comment on Flood water use 6 months ago:
Here's my half baked response.
They can pipeline oil over thousands of miles.
Why can't they pipeline water?
Oh shit. I think Nestlé heard me and all of our money goes to blowing up Palestinians, not giving drinkable water to Flynt.
Disregard please.
- Comment on I hate leaf blowers with the passion of 1000 suns. 6 months ago:
Precisely.
They promised complete privacy hedges when they announced the park.
They put in 7 immature trees along a half mile of fenceline.
Neighbors have been calling cops non stop about the illegal activity at night. They showed up once to harass the neighbors and ignore the people in the park.
It's all been a big ol fuck you to the homeowners.

I literally just emailed my local parks and rec because they built a park immediately behind my once peaceful house.
I begged them to stop leaf blowing every single day. There arent even any trees. They are just out there every day blowing the grass. Usually before 7am.
The response I got was basically "sit and spin. If you don't like it, call the cops, but they are city too so they won't do anything."

My memory is I checked with no intention to actually file, first job lost and all, and Arizona + part time = no unemployment.
Gotta be over 40 a week to qualify.
- Comment on Best Buy Membership "discount" 6 months ago:
My first breaking point was the millionth time I was in the printer aisle before open on a Saturday with a manager laying into me for a half hour about how to "squeeze the last of the juice" out of people, and they dropped the "tell them you are an un-comissioned salesperson so you have no reason to take advantage of them, it disarms them, makes them trust you, you can load anything into their cart after you make them believe that" and I had a moment of clarity, and instead of going "Uh huh. Yes sir" I thought "No. I am an un-comissioned salesperson so I have no reason to take advantage of them. End of sentence."
Genuinely, Best Buy is one of the worst companies on planet earth.
- Comment on Best Buy Membership "discount" 6 months ago:
Yup.
I was 17, I was about to graduate high school so it was part time. I was the most reliable department associate, but one of the "weaker" salesmen.
The department was spotless when I was there and the phone always got answered, and I made sure to bag 3 or 4 big sales a week, but I wasn't out to bleed every poor soul who walked into the department dry. I was more about good service and finding the right solution for each person.
So I got an average of 32 hours a week, well over all the other people in the department, but I was definitely on my way out, and that raging hemorrhoid of a waste of air reaming me out over helping an 80 year old woman who literally showed me her social security check, but assured me she had friends she could get to invite her over for dinner if the computer was too expensive pushed me out.
Its not even like if they fired me I would have gotten unemployment. It was just a petty move from a coward with a micro-peen who couldn't handle a 17 year old telling them they were a 45 year old failure at life working in a Best Buy for just over minimum wage taking advantage of nice elderly ladies.
- Comment on Best Buy Membership "discount" 6 months ago:
Yup.
I was in the computer sales department.
We were flat out told what the lies were, and how to make them more convincing.
The service contracts were non-refundable, so it didn't matter.
When a manager caught me helping a retiree get a cheap setup to email her grandkids instead of getting them on a line of credit for a top of the line gaming pc, they didn't even fire me. They just stopped scheduling me hours and told me to keep coming in to get my schedule.
Picked up a blank schedule for 5 weeks before I stopped going in and I'm sure they filed no call no show paperwork when I didn't show up for my 1 hour 3 weeks later.
Fuck best buy.
- Comment on Best Buy Membership "discount" 6 months ago:
Ya.
I worked there when they launched a membership thing, and it was points to gift cards that got printed on receipt paper in hopes the barcode on the carbon paper would fade before you tried to scan it, not any actual price reduction.
Kind of like how there was all that fine print in the 200 dollar service plan thar made it sound like you got more, but it was always just the manufacturer warantee, so if your device qualified for manufacturer warentee, good squad would give you the cheap out fix, and get the preemo replacements and put them into stock. If the manufacturer warantee didn't cover it, you were fucked.
- Comment on Should I permanently leave Israel? 6 months ago:
It's your choice.
The whole "be the active person who stops the riches from ruining earth" trope is a lie.
The current US is just as bad as Israel if not worse.
All the losers who either flunked high school or flunked, but had daddy to pay their way have brought fascism back en masses.
If you have the luxury to move to Sweden, or the Bahammas, as far as I'm concerned, do it.
You'll be in a better place when Israel nukes Iran, WWIII pops off, and the US cripples the internet/critical infrastructure around the world.
- Comment on Back in the 1970s when we switched to unleaded gas, what did the vehicles that ran on leaded gas do? 6 months ago:
Idk dude.
I had a leaded gas hoped whose motor was from a weed Wacker.
My step-dad brought home the gas can of unleaded, then I squirted some of the lead additive in the can, and I'd kinda swish the can around before refueling the gas can.
Worked for the 2 months before the goped was stolen.
Didn't end up buying the skylark, so never had my dinosaur juice leadifying skills refined.
- Comment on Back in the 1970s when we switched to unleaded gas, what did the vehicles that ran on leaded gas do? 6 months ago:
Boats, planes, gopeds, racing cars, farm equipment, old cars.
If you arent going to an actual boat/plane/tractor filling station and you just want to, for example, fuel up your goped, you just get regular unleaded and a lead additive and mix them before putting the fuel in the tank.
- Comment on Back in the 1970s when we switched to unleaded gas, what did the vehicles that ran on leaded gas do? 6 months ago:
My first car was almost a completely trashed 1970 Buick Skylark, this was in 2002.
It ran on leaded gasoline, so the plan was that id need to fill the unleaded gas into a gas-can, then mix in the lead additive, shake, and then fill its gas tank.
Ended up getting an 89 Caddy Deville that the seller was asking half as much for.

"Tankie" is a lightning rod to show you are a paranoid shill who loves Biden's genocide.
It also feels unbalanced when it isn't followed with a "Russian bot" comment, like it is 80% of the time.
"I know the president I fervently support did it, but its TRUMPS FAULT! HE USED THE TANKIES AND RUSSIAN BOTS TO DO IT!"

Ummm, from what ive seen, the general vibe is, you know how your boss would like to chain you to a desk in an office and ignore all your human wants and just make you a mindless drone that does their bidding, and as long as you are chained at that desk, you know that every couple days/weeks/months they will suddenly cater to your needs for a 45min to 4hr task, and based on how they like your performance, you stay chained to that desk or you get your needs catered to just enough to make you want to do WHATEVER you just did again?
That's what jail/prison is.
Human rights removed. Behavioral programming at maximum.
If I lost my leg right now, I would be destitute.
2 years in a prison and I'd probably be one-leg-hopping all over the place. Or buried out back. And we are learning that American police stations and prisons have a problem with literal shallow graveyards behind their buildings.
One of the major explainers about why badges hate 1st Amendment Auditors.
