I don’t think they usually worry too much about continuity. They’ll try to make things line up and explain inconsistencies sometimes, but there’s a lot of times the writers say “wibbly wobbly, timey wimey” and try to tell a fun story without being locked into things. Seeing that approach for so many years is probably why I normally don’t mind the inconsistencies between the various Star Trek shows!

They could definitely figure out a way to make it work! It could be pretty fun, and I would at least have a big grin on my face when I first saw the TARDIS on the Enterprise bridge!
And yes, I’ve noticed that too. The world of Doctor Who wouldn’t be a great place to live compared to Star Trek, at least from what we’ve been shown. Even the tone of the episodes is often darker, there are quite a few classic and modern episodes that are just family friendly horror. Trek has done some of that over the years, but it seems Who leans into it more, or at least I notice it more!

It would make a lot of people annoyed, and open up a huge number of issues with trying to match up timelines, but… I would watch a crossover. I would probably enjoy it too, as long as they had a good story to tell with it! I would think it would be best done as a streaming movie or something though.
- Comment on Podcast Discussion | Star Trek: Khan | 1x01 "Paradise" 6 days ago:
I thought it was pretty interesting. Of course first episodes are usually weighed down a little by setting everything up, but it seemed they did a pretty good job of it anyway.
Even though I don’t know any of the actors other than the former Trek actors and Wrenn Schmidt, the accents and voices are fortunately different enough that it’s not hard to keep up with so far. I do hope they don’t expand the cast too much farther though, or they could risk more casual listeners being unable to keep track of the various characters.
Khan is definitely not on my list of things I would like Star Trek to focus on, but I hope this series does well enough that they consider doing some more varied stories within the format in the future. And of course I plan on continuing to listen to this one too, and I hope they tell some interesting stories.

Already finished! It was pretty interesting, I’m looking forward to the rest of them.

I originally wondered about that when BlueBrixx lost their license. I can’t imagine how much they’ll cost, but I’m curious to see what sets they do.
- Comment on Jonathan Frakes Surprised ‘Strange New Worlds’ Star Trek Spoof Was Controversial; Talks Directing ‘Academy’ And More 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, that is sad. I enjoy seeing futuristic aliens and ships too, but I guess I’ve never really understood why a lot of these shows have to look like movies now. I would be perfectly happy to see them cut those fancy effects way back and spend some of that money on some good writers to make a few more episodes. I’ve found I very rarely remember how good the CGI monster or alien building looked, but I often remember what the characters said.
No, I’m not as old as I sound! ;-)

Seriously though, I just like to give things a try before deciding for myself what I think of it.

We’ve seen basically nothing of it other than a short trailer, so it’s way too early for anyone to be deciding whether it’ll be good or not! I’m planning to give it a try, just like I have with every other Trek show so far. If I like it, I’ll continue watching. If I don’t, I won’t!
- Comment on Watch This Documentary About 'Star Trek: Phase II' and See What Could've Been 5 weeks ago:
I personally like 1/2/4! I guess the best way to put it is that none of the Trek movies, even my favorites, have really stuck with me like my favorite episodes have.
- Comment on Watch This Documentary About 'Star Trek: Phase II' and See What Could've Been 5 weeks ago:
From the information I’ve seen of it, I think I would have liked Phase II better than the movies they did instead. That being said, the movies probably brought the franchise to a lot of people it may not have reached with another show. So TNG and the later shows may have been a lot lower budget or maybe not made all.

That would be an intriguing idea, and animation would be a good way to do it too! I would usually prefer that they go the new ship and new crew route, but if they tell stories I’m interested in I would be happy to see it.
- Comment on Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 3x04 "A Space Adventure Hour" 1 month ago:
I’ve thought about having a more serious animated series in the franchise, and I think it could work. There would of course be a group of people that wouldn’t watch because it’s not live action, but depending on how they do it the costs could be a fair amount less too.

I haven’t being following news on this show too closely since it’s still a way out, so maybe this has been mentioned elsewhere. I noticed that the Klingon character has a pretty similar ridge structure to Worf and family, especially with Worf’s updated look from Picard. Might just be a coincidence though.

I dug my sim racing gear back out recently and have been putting in quite a few hours into the rallycross mode on Dirt Rally 2.0! I’m currently trying to tell myself that I normally only do this for a month or two a year, and that I don’t need to buy a sim cockpit to do it with! 😂 Although I could use it for American and Euro Truck Simulator, so maybe worth it.

Now I need to see that episode again! I remember that episode really standing out to me when I was first watching the show, I think I rewatched it in the next day or two.

While I knew we would be seeing Spock, I was also hoping there would be fewer established TOS characters. As you said though, the plan seems to be working so far. I’ve definitely been enjoying it!
- Comment on Paramount+ Announces Fifth and Final Season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 2 months ago:
I’m sure they’ve thought about switching over, whether as a continuation of TOS or telling new stories mixed in with it. I would still watch if they kept it fairly similar, as I like the cast they’ve put together.
I would prefer to see them tell new stories in a new era with a new ship and a new crew though. However, if they decided to continue in the same era, I personally would like to see a La’an led show. It could run alongside the TOS continuity, so they could even add in those appearances by Kirk and Spock that you know they would want to do. They didn’t ask me to pitch for them though, so I doubt it’ll happen! :)

I’ve been waiting to see MI - Dead Reckoning until I can see it and Final Reckoning back to back for that exact reason! I’m hoping it’s a satisfying conclusion in case they actually stick to the statement that it’s the last Cruise led movie in the series.

Godzilla Minus One (2023) 9/10
- I finally got around to watching this one, and I quite enjoyed it! I prefer the movies where Godzilla is the antagonist and the only monster, so having a movie like that with memorable characters was a breathe of fresh air! The atmosphere of dread Godzilla evoked when on screen was very good, and that lingered even when they were gone. I really liked a lot of the characters, and although I don’t understand Japanese I thought the actors did a good job. I’m also a plane fan, so seeing a J7W portrayed in a movie was a treat as well! Other than a few minor nitpicks I enjoyed it a good bit, and I watched it for the second time the next day, which is something I rarely do.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) 6.5/10
- Star Wars as a franchise has never really clicked with me, although I did think the original movie was pretty good as a standalone. However, I did get hooked on the Andor series and really enjoyed it, so I watched this movie after finishing season 2. Due to watching it as a follow-up to a very good series I may have rated it a bit lower than I would have otherwise, so I may revisit it later.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) 7.5/10
- This is a film I’ve seen several times, and I think it holds up pretty well. It does a good job of building the tension throughout, and the atmosphere was good as well.
- An interesting, although somewhat predictable, time loop story. I did feel like they overdid some parts of the loop just a little bit, but it wasn’t as bad as it could have been. If it would have surprised me a bit somewhere along the way I would have been happy, but it kept me entertained, which is the important part!
- Comment on After 25 hours of the Dune: Awakening beta, I'm sold on it as a survival game but still a bit iffy on the MMO parts 4 months ago:
I’m watching it from a distance to see how things go. I’m a fan of the Dune books and the new movies as well, so the world would be interesting to explore. Unfortunately everything I’ve seen of it gives me the feeling that it should have been a single player game instead.
What they mentioned about the player built houses was the first thing I thought of when I heard you could build your own. There’s going to be huge amounts of clutter everywhere you can build!
