I was paying $120ish for cable in 2014 (not including cable internet, with that it was nearly $200). We would have cut the cord earlier, but without cable our internet went way up and we may as well have had cable too.

Sadly they gave Manifest a 3rd and 4th season.

I have an empty Costco container from those peanut butter filled pretzels full of loose screws. I had one for marbles too, but I lost all of those.
- Comment on Did you know there's a Star Trek version of Settlers of Catan? Did you also know Wil Wheaton and Jeri Ryan played it together? Behold. 1 year ago:
Sadly this version is OOP, but i did manage to get a demo for my game shop before that happened. I need to find more Trekkies to play it with me.

She ended up getting a 2016 Nissan Rogue, but it did not have an infotainment system. It is a fairly simple system with Bluetooth connectivity for audio. I wish more companies would give us the ability to modify the systems, especially after they abandon them (my 2015 Toyota Tacoma’s last map update is from about 6 months before my truck was built.)
- Comment on New cars are great... 1 year ago:
My mom has a ‘16 Subaru and the infotainment has been such a hassle. I had to constantly keep repairing her Bluetooth. It was so bad that my daughter, who has wanted a Subaru for years decided against one simply because of the infotainment.

Hidey holes like the entire area behind the back seat? Or the space made when the gas tank is removed from the frunk?

I am hoping to convert my ‘63 Karmann Ghia to an EV… its ICE is 79 hp.
- Comment on For those with larger phones, how do you handle them without grip accessories? 1 year ago:
What do you consider a larger phone? I have an iPhone 14 Pro, it is slightly smaller (more just a different form factor) than my previous device, the Moto Z 4. I have a case, but have always had a case all the way back to my LG that was the size of an iPod. I do not use any other holding device.
If I do not feel comfortable holding and using it in the environment I am at I put it into my pocket for the time being. When we walk our dogs I usually never take it out because one of my dogs is notorious at yanking the leash if we stop for too long (my sister and I trade plant and other nature photos a lot). A lot of times we walk on a dirt path, I am more comfortable with it out there than I am when we walk the dogs in town and we are on an asphalt path.
- Comment on LibreOffice 24.2 Will Succeed LibreOffice 7.6 1 year ago:
LibreOffice developers are moving to a year.month based versioning system. Thus the next release with their six-month based release cadence will be LibreOffice 24.2 and in turn LibreOffice 24.8, 25.2, 25.8, 26.2, etc. Due to the maturity of the LibreOffice codebase, the current versioning system isn’t really reflective of major changes and in turn can be hard to genuinely justify bumping the significant version number. By switching to a calendar-based numbering system it’s now decoupled from features or not of that release.
- Comment on In the US, what happens if you sustain a life threatening injury and you don't have insurance? 1 year ago:
I sustained a workplace injury (working on a movie set) and the production company never filed the paperwork, so their insurance would not cover me. I refused to pay the bill and it showed up on my credit report and caused issues for three years. Eventually i found my wrap gift from movie and inside the set medic had put a copy of the paperwork. I scanned it and emailed it to the hospital and within 72 hours it was taken care of and like a month later it was off my credit report. (Time frames may be off as this transpired in 2015)
