This is a completely random story but the post made me remember and i wanted to share.
I’m college about 12 years ago i got cited for understands alcohol consumption and got an email saying i had to meet with an advisor to discuss the situation. I slept through the meeting and basically said exactly that in an email to the advisor who replied like wtf okay we’ll reschedule, and then i never heard anything about it ever again.

I initially thought it was the Pokemon logo at the bottom and was fairly confused

- Comment on The Social Security Fix Nobody Wants to Talk About | A small tax increase would make the essential national retirement program secure for decades, our columnist says, but lawmakers would have to act 5 months ago:
This is a very uninformed comment, but isn’t the social security tax essentially capped at earnings of 100k? Like if I make 200k a year I pay in the same as someone making 100k?

Dog? It’s an okay name I guess

This one was subtle enough I’m counting it. Took me thirty seconds of not understanding the joke before suddenly realizing I lost
- Comment on How did we get humans on the moon in 1969 and are still struggling to get the Starship rocket to launch properly? 6 months ago:
I may have missed it in another comment, but I believe part of it is the cost of lives. During the space race someone dying would’ve just been part of the risk. Now we are using more automation and a human fatality might risk a company’s ability to continue its pursuit.

I tried this line on my wife and now I’m sleeping on the couch…
- Comment on I'm at a roulette table. I only bet on red. When I lose I triple my bet, when I win I restart. Is this a roulette strategy? 10 months ago:
I didn’t get through all the comments, but most of the top ones and haven’t yet seen the most basic casino check to stop these strategies is a table maximum. Same with doubling your bet each hand you lose at black jack, one bad run and you hit table max and you can’t raise your bet far enough

Dolphins and Jets colors. Black Friday football game on Amazon video on Friday. Guess that’s how they’re promoting it.

Kongregate is still a thing? I thought the move away from flash games killed the names of my youth but I suppose they transitioned somewhere

It isn’t a draw for me in the slightest, but the historic interest in her tour is still an interesting phenomenon

Any guesses how ridiculous Taylor Swift’s weekend numbers get? I’m not much of a movie goer but these posts are fun.
- Comment on How has Instagram largely avoided being associated with Facebook/Meta? 1 year ago:
My younger sisters (22and 23) have never had a Facebook account but are into Instagram and Snapchat. To some degree an age difference is at play. I’m 30 and it’s crazy how differently we’re involved with the internet.
- Comment on Would you all prefer lemmy as a whole reaches the userbase of reddit, or to remain smaller? 1 year ago:
The best part about reddit was a community for everything with users with experience that could answer your question. Whether I needed help configuring a router, help worth a plumbing question, or advice on hiking boots I could find an answer either by searching our posting out I needed something more specific. Number of users helps build that knowledge pool, but so far I prefer the community here much more.
I posted this comment and never would’ve on reddit lol
