- Comment on Starfield's first DLC is one of the worst Bethesda and DLCs of all time 1 month ago:
I mean, it all hinged in the fact that under all those glitches and bugged mechanics CDPR still had a nice game. Starfield can’t be salvaged cuz the core game is just mediocre shit.
I wanna say it’s a failed IP at this point, but who knows how many copies sold. What is sure is it doesn’t deserve any more of my time. I have the DLC but won’t reinstall that garbage
- Comment on M*crosoft's search engine is borderline unusable 2 months ago:
it’s not fake, bing rewards has been a thing for many years. It’s literally just using bing to search things, each search gives you points, and then you redeem giftcards (amazon, uber, etc)
I guess most here don’t particularly care, but the points mechanic it’s nice
- Comment on M*crosoft's search engine is borderline unusable 2 months ago:
I wouldn’t say it’s borderline unusable tbh…
The first adware result is blocked with any ad blocker, the fact you see it means you might not have your ad blocker on, or disabled in incognito mode.
The second and third copilot bullshit sections can be toggled off from any search result page, on the sidebar settings there’s a toggle.
I do appreciate the bing rewards thing, basically every few weeks I get a gift card because you earn points by using bing

Strange, for me Tineye has not a single time been able to identify ANY of the images I ever tried.

The worst thing is that there are many bootlickers out there. Worker rights are a joke and companies have infinite ways of fucking you over.
In this instance the HR snakes were caught with their pants down and looked like imbeciles.
But for example many people get placed on PiP with unrealistic goals, or harassed by management over petty mistakes. The only goal being saving the corporation some money by claiming low performance.
A lot of people out there need to get their head out of their asses if they think this is ok.

Tbh I have had a lot of fun with this game (35h in). It’s an RPG first and space explorer second, nothing necessarily wrong with that.
I also learned that if you’re tracking a quest you can use the grav drive right from the ship’s HUD by selecting the locstion marker. It does help immersion a tiny bit more.
Overall it’s what they promised, modders can anyways “fix” the shortcomings.

There is spaceship battles, not sure about random locations, but I’m guessing you’d also need to fast travel to those.
Also the spaceship is VERY customizable, so much in fact that I found it overwhelming lmao. Not saying that’s bad thing, but you’d definitely need to come up with a lot of credits /loot first.
Again I only have 4 hours in game, so I don’t really know much yet.

Just played 4 hours. Not saying whether the game is good or bad, but I’m not seeing the point of the spaceship yet.
It’s looks like merely a medium for the fast traveling mechanic. You can’t really “move” in space (as far as ive tried), and can’t use it to fly within a planet.
I expected being able to manually travel from planet A to planet B and finding cool stuff along the way. If you wanna actually move you need to fast travel.
- Comment on lemm.ee plans for mitigating image upload abuse 1 year ago:
IMO Lemmy shouldn’t have media uploading of any kind. Aside from the CSAM risk, it’s unsustainable and I think one of the reasons Reddit went to shit is by getting into the whole image/video/gif hosting.
Dozens of media hosts exist out there, and the mobile/web clients should focus instead on showing remote content better.

- Comment on can we please defederate from hexbear 1 year ago:
Many people are very triggered in that post and I don’t get it.
No platform is gonna have only decent users and only content you agree with. Resorting to defederation from any instance that is offensive to some people just damages what lemmy is trying to be tbh.
Eventually instances following that mindset will be isolated because there’s always someone out there who wants to impose their own content curation (like no NSFW, no politics, no trolling, no memes, etc…)
Users should make the calls for what they want to see on an individual level. Thanks to the admin to sticking to fair policies.
