- Comment on Experiencing weird rubberbanding and disconnects on lan connection. [Satisfactory] 5 weeks ago:
Most game servers are primarily single threaded, so you won’t see all 4 cores at 100%.
- Comment on Experiencing weird rubberbanding and disconnects on lan connection. [Satisfactory] 5 weeks ago:
That’s on the slower end, but I’ve run a satisfactory server on similar hardware before without too many issues.
Is the storage SSD based?
Do you have all 4 cores/threads allocated to the server?
- Comment on Experiencing weird rubberbanding and disconnects on lan connection. [Satisfactory] 5 weeks ago:
Do you know what CPU it is? Xeon with 4 threads can range from something so old it can barely run most modern software, to a fairly recent CPU that’s much faster.
- Comment on Experiencing weird rubberbanding and disconnects on lan connection. [Satisfactory] 5 weeks ago:
Generally tick length messages are purely due to CPU limitations.
What hardware is this running on?

Librewolf (Firefox fork with better privacy) + uBlock Origin (comes pre-installed) + “AdGuard – Cookie Notices” filter enabled, plus any of the others you like.
Then bask in the internet without any annoyances, popups, or ads.

It’s crazy to me that all these websites advertise pirated/stolen Microsoft keys and aren’t getting in trouble for it.

It’s a very old game, from before DX12 existed.

I believe only the Pixel phones have the security hardware needed for Graphene.

Firefox with uBlock Origin also works nicely.
- Comment on This Google Photos popup 2 months ago:
Maybe, the average user really doesn’t understand backups though and would be more likely to ignore it then.
- Comment on This Google Photos popup 2 months ago:
I’m always conflicted on this kind of thing, because for every person annoyed that it’s asking there’s a bunch that are complaining that they lost all their photos because their phone was stolen or something like that, and had no idea that they need to backup their stuff.

CalTopos Viewshed layer is also a handy tool, it’s purely viewshed so no RSSI calculations, but it’s great for figuring out where a good spot for an antenna would be.

Yeah google messages has pretty good automatic spam detection, you can check the spam folder and see how many are in there.
- Comment on How does car insurance on multiple vehicles work (USA) 3 months ago:
Yeah you get fairly large discounts on extra vehicles, the logic being that you’re only driving one at a time and so collision and liability coverage costs only go up a little for each extra vehicle.
- Comment on I asked what your fave controllers are, now. What is the worst controller you have used? 4 months ago:
The ‘Steam Controller’ I think it was called? That thing was so awful I only used it like twice.
- Comment on Q: Do I need Geforce Experience to make use of "Game Ready Drivers" (Nvidia)? 4 months ago:
I believe you don’t get Shadowplay without it, so if you need game recording / replay without impacting performance it’s worth installing.

Does it maybe mean 40% cacao content chocolate?
- Comment on Waiting in a queue to see a Web site 7 months ago:
That’s wild, how do they not have the server budget to show you the website, but do have some to show you a queue signup any everything? Surely those take about the same amount of resources!

Firefox can open/edit PDFs too, so you could get rid of Foxit since it’s obnoxious as well.

Firefox can open and edit PDFs, just uninstall the Adobe junk.
- Comment on Amsterdam testing system that can remotely slow e-bikes down 8 months ago:
The usual “too many people are getting hit by cars while on bicycles, obviously it’s the bicycles that are the problem”
If ebikes that go over 25kmh are already illegal, why would those ebikes have this speed limiter module installed?
According to Paul Timmer of the Townmaking Institute, getting the device working on all e-bikes should be pretty straightforward. “There are five manufacturers and suppliers of motors for electric bicycles. They all work with similar systems,”
Also completely false, are they going to make it illegal to buy ebikes that don’t come with those 5 drive systems from large corporations, and shut out the small businesses that make ebike motors?

They work, but efficiency is near 1:1 when it’s that cold so there’s no cost advantage over a space heater.
- Comment on I just want to set a timer for MY FOOD WINDOWS WHY? 1 year ago:
For some reason windows will update their own app from their own app store, and then immediately apply another update when you open the app.
Their whole system is so hacked together.

There are definitely games that are designed to pull as much money from the player as possible, just avoid them. Don’t buy them, don’t play them.
- Comment on The Daily Grind: Have graphics ever actually turned you off from an MMO? | Massively Overpowered 1 year ago:
The overall look and feel of a game certainly have turned me away many times, but graphics in the technical term of having low res textures or simple lighting not really, other than ones with performance issues.
