- Comment on The Vision Pro is a flop 7 months ago:
That is the debunked news though as Apple can only make 500,000 this year as they are constrained by the displays that Sony is making for them.
- Comment on The Vision Pro is a flop 7 months ago:
Wasn’t the poor sales data all debunked this week? Vision Pro is meant for developers and enthusiasts and not the masses as even Apple knows it is not ready for prime time. Not defending a corporation here, but this article seems like a hit piece and not actual news. Like clearly they hate the Vision Pro but clearly it was not meant for them. Articles like this have always happened, but I am noticing a lot more of them as of late.
- Comment on British Columbia to recriminalize use of drugs in public spaces 7 months ago:
They do not even have the resources to deal with most crimes now let alone making public drug use a crime again. Laughable.
- Comment on The University of Texas at Austin has 'delisted' this video so that it's harder to find. 7 months ago:
Wow. That is insane that an arrest record is searchable as there are so many false arrests. Feels all kinds of wrong. The USA really surprises me.
- Comment on The University of Texas at Austin has 'delisted' this video so that it's harder to find. 7 months ago:
Does anyone know if searching arrest records is possible? I feel for these people if they are as I have read many USA employers check this sort of thing. Would be a shame to not get your career started as you got basically illegally arrested for peaceful protest. That just feels all kinds of wrong.
- Comment on The University of Texas at Austin has 'delisted' this video so that it's harder to find. 7 months ago:
Do these arrests without further charges show up on these people’s criminal records? I sure hope not.
- Comment on Khronos Group seeking proposals for paid work to improve OpenXR for Godot Engine 7 months ago:
Would be great if they can create an open source Immersive Avatar system while at it too.

You really can pivot at any age. I was a former Management Consultant and become a VR developer at 50 and now with a top rated VR app. Just follow your passions.

Value creation is not about how your corporation is structured, but how you treat your passionate development team whose talent creates valued games.
- Comment on Biden 'doesn't understand the Catholic faith,' bishop says: 'I'm not angry at him, he's just stupid' 8 months ago:
Catholics do not understand their own faith either though? It really is a game of pick and choose what you want to believe from the bible.
- Comment on A Planetary Crisis Awaits the Next President 8 months ago:
The fact that we have a planetary crisis in the first place is in part due all the Presidents serving the military industrial complex first. I recognize that most have made some efforts, especially Biden as of late, but they are mostly symbolic as the USA is only increasing their greenhouse gas emissions. It is is way way worse than most realize. Great video on the topic here from Climate Town. youtu.be/K2oL4SFwkkw?si=nZRwqpjiFmEKQLj-
- Comment on 24% of 5-7 year olds now use smartphones: UK watchdog 8 months ago:
This is shocking. Just as shocking as a similar stat in 10-20 years of the same age group wearing Immersive Glasses. Maybe more will. As far fetched as that sounds today as the above sounded 20 years ago.
- Comment on Arab and Muslim voters in Australia feel unheard by our major parties 8 months ago:
Does any group feel heard right now by politicians anywhere?
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 8 months ago:
That is the thing though. The real talented tech people tend to be more in the weeds of the tech and get great enjoyment from that. The “tech bros” are more into groups, people, social structures, manipulation, controlling and such and would go crossed eyed if they really had to code something complex as they could never sit that long and concentrate. These are not these same people. Tech bros want you to think they are tech gurus as that is their brand, but it is a lie.
- Comment on Putin Orders Russian Tech Companies To Somehow Make Competitive Game Console In 3 Months 8 months ago:
The funny part is leaders all of the world are going to ask their country to do the same thing too now as none of them realize how ridiculous it is.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 8 months ago:
Tech bros are not really techie themselves as they are really just Wall Street bros with tech as their product. Most claim they can code, but if they were coders they would be coding. They are not coders, they are businessmen through and through.who just happen to sell tech.
- Comment on Larian publishing director on mass layoffs: 'None of these companies are at risk of going bankrupt. They were just at risk of pissing off the shareholders' 8 months ago:
That is true and is the primary reason I have no stocks and am not even incorporated. I am a sole proprietorship and everyone I work with I pay for their talent as needed and they are their own sole proprietorship doing their own thing and get paid fairly for their work. Yes this means I cannot get to market fast, and I am ok with that. Everyone is compensated whether or not my project is successful and I retain full control if it is.
- Comment on Larian publishing director on mass layoffs: 'None of these companies are at risk of going bankrupt. They were just at risk of pissing off the shareholders' 8 months ago:
In my opinion game studios should not sell out to investors and/or have publicly traded stocks as it will lead to profit making the calls eventually. It is tempting to get a bunch of investment, I know it would make my game studio easier to run right now, but then you are constantly reminded how it all ends up. Don’t like the system, stop playing in it and build your company slowly and organically instead and retain full control.
Same goes for many businesses outside of gaming. Imagine if there was no such thing as the stock market / investors and all companies had to grow on their own merits.

- Comment on AI ‘apocalypse’ could take away almost 8m jobs in UK, says report 8 months ago:
I agree. I think some are really going to benefit from AI, but perhaps many more will be negatively impacted. The government seems to be waiting for the problem to get ugly before waking up and addressing.

- Comment on Emad Mostaque steps down as CEO and from the Board of Directors to pursue decentralized AI 8 months ago:
I have watched Emad talk a number of times now and feel he really gets where it is all going in a way only a handful of other seems too. I have personally been wondering about when we would see a decentralized AI as the centralized ones certainly come with a lot of corporate baggage.
- Comment on Neurodivergents of Lemmy. Do you think of yourself as (A) Cursed by fate, permanently damaged and suffering OR (B) Gifted by fate with a nonstandard package of strengths and weaknesses? 9 months ago:
I think neurotypical are the ones cursed by fate given the ridiculous group structures so many seem to blindly support.

- Comment on Windows Mixed Reality to be removed in Windows 11 24H2 10 months ago:
I am more than a little surprised. Like I get Microsoft is not overly into VR or MR and even their AR headset has stagnated, but to drop support for products people bought in part because Microsoft backed it, then to just drop it is burning customer confidence and trust. Foolish move.

- Comment on Let's confuse Americans! 1 year ago:
All I can think of when I see this is the bigger bag, that had like 3 or 4 1L bags of milk in it that this one time fell out of their grocery bag in my parents car and 2 of the bag got sliced open. The smell never left the car despite major efforts to clean up. I hazard to guess this is a big reason they no longer come in bags, but I hear maybe they still too in central Canada. Not here in the west.
