- Comment on Garry's Mod forced to remove Nintendo content after takedowns 6 months ago:
Nintendo does takedown like this all the time. I haven’t seen anybody actually point at evidence of fraudsters, and there is no reasonable benefit to doing this as a fraud. There is no avenue of profit.
- Comment on Garry’s mod is removing “Nintendo Stuff” after takedown notices, but users suspect foul play from fraudsters 6 months ago:
What evidence do people have it was copyright trolls? Nintendo isn’t just assholes about this, they are the fucking poster boy for fucking up fan made content and support in the name of IP.
- Comment on Garry’s mod is removing “Nintendo Stuff” after takedown notices, but users suspect foul play from fraudsters 6 months ago:
-
Everybody is claiming fraudsters, but I don’t see the evidence.

Nintendo has had a huge crackdown in the last year on mods and video content including their branded IP.
People just need to move on from this shitty company and find new favorites. Nintendo is an abusive company that does not give a shit about you being a fan. They just want to make shitty annual release clones of games.
Please stop supporting this business.
While you’re at it, please also quit buying Ubisoft games for a bit. That Star Wars Outlaws game needs to fail.
If gamers could just not put up with this shit for like 1 year, we could have significant corrective action in these teams.
I guarantee Nintendo would be begging for fan made content if they were no longer the monolith of Japanese development they have become.

- Comment on GTA5 nearly had story DLC that made Trevor a 007-style spy - until it was cancelled and turned into a GTA Online heist 6 months ago:
As if Rockstar couldn’t do both with the fastest profit generating piece of media of its decade.
The game literally set records for profit generation against all media types on release, they could have had 10 teams working 10 different DLC’s simultaneously.
It was a choice to not focus on single player, and not a bad one.
At the end of the day, the content’s longevity goes up when integrated with GTA online and would increase the activity count, thus profitability of online.
It’s an AAA company working for a profit, not an indie title passion project.
- Comment on Dark Souls would’ve been a better game in early access, says dev behind Dark Souls-like early access game No Rest For The Wicked 6 months ago:
I’ve seen more articles about this game than any other and haven’t heard of a si gle person in my office of gamers or my gamer friends talking about it.
Nothing in the advertising looked even a little appealing.
Why is this game getting so much buzz from Lemmy and this website rockpapershotgun?
I know Ico is highly rated, but that game is like 15 years old and released in a very different era of gaming.

- Comment on What's it like adding a world to Star Wars? The Outlaws developers explain 7 months ago:
For real. The Outlaws planet from the trailer just looks like a knock off of the outpost planet from Jedi Survivor.

Guess how reddit started.
- Comment on No, Jabba The Hutt isn't a Star Wars Outlaws season pass or special edition exclusive 7 months ago:
You’re not passing on it. You’re just refusing to be honest in saying there are no games like that.
You didn’t comment to engage what I said, you just wanted to be a redditor living a reddit moment.
I’m so fucking sick of redditors and their brain dead circle jerks where people stick their head up their asses and regurgitate the same stupid shit that was regurgitated into their mouths.
- Comment on No, Jabba The Hutt isn't a Star Wars Outlaws season pass or special edition exclusive 7 months ago:
There were no microtransactions on their lootbox system.
So yea, this is all inaccurate drama.
- Comment on No, Jabba The Hutt isn't a Star Wars Outlaws season pass or special edition exclusive 7 months ago:
I directly addressed the topic, the lootboxes in BF2, so probably not.
This is quite literally the opinion I’m addressing. People hold on to this while ignoring the 4 years of free content pumped into the game.
- Comment on No, Jabba The Hutt isn't a Star Wars Outlaws season pass or special edition exclusive 7 months ago:
EA did good with their 10 year license, though. People sleep on the EA Battlefront games.
Don’t get me wrong, EA tries to pull shit all the time and is a shitty company. They tried to make a shitty lootbox system in BF2 but were fairly responsive to fan criticism, and the game got a shit load of free content.
Unlike Ubisoft, who is literally carving out on release content to sell you.
- Comment on No, Jabba The Hutt isn't a Star Wars Outlaws season pass or special edition exclusive 7 months ago:
So they made up a strawman to respond to.
They were getting shit on for selling in game on launch story content separately.
Fuck Ubisoft and fuck this shitty game. Also fuck anybody who buys it.
- Comment on Fallout Show, so bad that no one will remember it in 3 months 7 months ago:
Similar boat, except my wife actually got hooked on FO76 a couple of months back and loved it.
I skip a lot of adaption shows or remakes, so she basically forced me to start it, but I wound up really enjoying it. We’re trying not to binge it all in a day, so I’m only halfway through, but I look forward to watching it.

Touch grass guy.
- Comment on Star Wars Outlaws: Official Story Trailer 7 months ago:
With 3x the amount of microtransactions than ever before!!!
- Comment on Star Wars Outlaws Release Date Set For August, New Story Trailer Shown 7 months ago:
What do yall wanna bet this game gets loaded with microtransactions despite being single player?
- Comment on Open world games, need recommendations 7 months ago:
Bethesda has a large selection of open world games, but I pretty much assume people have played all of them (Elder Scrolls / Fallout games).
If you are okay with going outside of Fantasy, the Far Cry series has some impressive technology in their older titles. Far Cry 2 is a personal favorite, your PC might be able to handle it.
Borderlands series.
The original Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen holds up. This is probably my best recommendation based on your asks.
Lego Star Wars or the Lego Marvel game.
Fable 1, 2, 3
The Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor / Shadow of War Games were pretty incredible but might be too high-end.
The first Red Dead Redemption might run for you.
From here, I would start listing old Star Wars Jedi Knight series games.
I could probably go on, but this is most of the good stuff off the top of my head.

On your free Lemmy account lmao
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
You’re raging about a publisher providing deals to games that are done selling and helping them get some extra coverage.
Your excuse is how you would rather people steal from the developers because that is a better way of supporting them. Your reasoning is that Epic under pays them, while your solution is to pay them nothing.
The irony in this tantrum hurts to read.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
You don’t think companies pull data from lemmy? Do you use an app to access the website?
It’s not that hard to wrap your head around this.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
You just said free games were bad 3 times with no justification lmao.
A loss leader is standard business practice across all businesses.
- Comment on The Outer Worlds and Thief are free from Epic next week 7 months ago:
Says the dude using a free lemmy account.
Why even complain about this? Paid products are also harvesting your data for resale. This isn’t a unique feature of Epic.
- Comment on Take-Two Buys Gearbox From Embracer, Confirms Development on New Borderlands Game 7 months ago:
Unpopular opinion: GTA 5 and Online are impressive af and the hate has nothing to do with the actual state of the game.
- Comment on Dragon's Dogma 2: Review Thread 8 months ago:
Portcrystals are not the same thing as ferrystones and are useless without them.
You are speaking from ignorance.
They give you some ferrystones in the game as well, but it is artificially limited to force microtransactions into a single-player game. It literally goes against the design of the game.
- Comment on [Discussion] What's your "this has bothered me for way too long" movie moment? 8 months ago:
Nah, 8 is by far the worst of the bunch. 9 is a response to the problems created by 8 and 7 is a relatively good movie outside of reverting the setting.
8 is bad plot mixed with character assassination and intentionally fucks up the flow of a trilogy because Johnson has an ego problem.
Dude literally had them change aspects of 7 so he could make Luke suck in 8, then refused to leave storylines open for J.J to finish the trilogy, even when requested.
- Comment on [Discussion] What's your "this has bothered me for way too long" movie moment? 8 months ago:
Star Wars Episode 8 is the one that lives in my head ever since its release.
Play by play of the opening sequence battle:
First Order ambushes the Resistance base as it is evacuating
First Order summons a ship described as a "Fleet Destroyer
First Order only has enough time to charge one shot, but has 2 targets: The Resistance base full of intel and equipment that can’t move or the Escape Fleet with all the escape ships and evacuated people.
So, who do they shoot?
The base full of intel on the ground…
- Comment on The Steam Spring Sale is now in full swing 8 months ago:
That doesn’t sound right to me. My first playthrough was blind. Me and a buddy ran straight to Nightsong in chapter 2 and got a flag that warned us to check the rest. We managed to save the prisoners and then go do the nightsong.
