You’re probably right. In this market even the perfect candidate has a tough time. I’ll still probably go for the AWS certs (I have been eyeing the specialities for a while now) along with maybe CISSP if I find the time for it. Security isn’t actually my main focus but I try to bring it along in everything I do at work (and annoy a fair number of people as a result hehe)

The market is still fairly dogshit from my perspective. What certifications do you recommend to rise up the ladder? I’m more into cloud security/infrastructure than pentesting, was considering the AWS-SAP but was quickly reminded of how much work that is without continuous AWS exposure.

I haven’t had a shave for a week, need to get to it soon. I’m actually starting to like my work more, it’s going the way I wanted it to go. Some ideas for fun on the side are brewing too. Overall quite decent. How’s yours?

So pretty!
How has stability been for you on Gentoo?

Thanks for this, I had never heard of this project before. Does this (theoretically) work on any Chromebook?

I’m working on the TutorialsDojo sets and I must say, they are quite good. There are no labs, unfortunately, but I probably wouldn’t have the time anyway. I have very little AWS/security experience, but I have some background in networking (at least it’s not completely new to me) and have the SAA so I’m not starting from scratch, but studying takes time! I wish my schedule would clear up haha.
Which certificate are you looking at right now? I’d like to do the networking speciality, SAP, and maybe the DevOps professional after that. I’m also hoping to change jobs so I get to work with AWS but no luck so far.

Still planning to sit for the AWS Security Speciality, but not sure if I will find enough time to study for it (I wanted to get it done with before the Winter break but at this rate I can’t even give 2 hours a day, and I need time to explore services and note down facts).

Thanks

I’m interested in pursuing security in the cloud/ infrastructure security. Should I sit for the Security Speciality from AWS? I have the SAA.
Was also considering the CCNA at a later date, so you recommend I try that too? Don’t see it being much relevant to my career other than having my networking concepts clear (maybe that’s the point).
Cheers!
