I feel you but you only have one fragile body.
I spent months of horror and multiple hospitalisations because I brake too hard on my bike at low speed, didn’t fall but landed too hard on the saddle. My username comes from that horrendous experience.
Of course it was because a car ran a red light, that was hidden by a truck parked like an asshole.
There’s a shitload of studies showing that cars break far more rules than bikes everywhere it has been measured. You don’t have to put your body in the line to make a point.
Please just be safe for your own sake. You certainly deserve it.

This was just one step. More are needed. Even peaceful ones.

I found it. It’s episode 7: the three transformations of Roman Gaul.
He starts to talk about it at minute 7.
Listening to it again he really struggles with this one, which is weird because I have otherwise no difficulty to understand him when he uses other French or Italian names.

I had the reverse problem when listening to the excellent “the fall of Rome” podcast. At some point, the american host starts to talk extensively about a city port in the South of France named something like “Awol”. I was confused, thinking “I lived close to the area he is describing for 3 years as a student, and never heard of that city. Maybe it’s like in Marseille where the port was re discovered in the 80s inland, many hundred meters from the sea.” After more than an hour of listening I realised he was simply saying “Arles” with an American accent. It is a very famous Roman city with beautiful ruins where I went several times, so I might just be dumb.

What do you mean ? IT IS obviously the o.

And we are going to use the almost all the alphabet to make exactly one sound.
For instance eaux is pronounced o.

Not true. Our cars account for more than 15% of the problem. Our meat is about the same. With just those two things, we are over the 25% of the “factor 4” from Rio. It is oversimplified, but it gives the idea: if the Ultra richs stop polluting, we are still doomed if the rest of us doesn’t do something either.

Ok so now I’m “right of Reagan” apparently. Great.
I hope my partner don’t find out…

I was refering at a tank as in “Main battle tank”.
That being said, I have 2 kids and my car is (I just checked) 3.81 meters long. I’m not even sure cars of that size are still being sold in north America. What I’m sure of is that finding a convenient one of this size is becoming complicated in Europe, so my next one will probably be a tad bigger.
Still, I don’t understand what so called trucks or SUV are for.
- Comment on 👴☝️I did that 2 months ago:
Yeah you should not drive a tank either.

- Comment on I am an American. I used to be proud of my country. Now it feels like a turd circling the drain. Is there anything going on behind the scene that America is actually doing good in? 4 months ago:
Over the past decade, you can be proud of how you’ve made inclusive principles a standard feature of your cultural products.
Today, you’re facing backlash from the idiots who are panicking, but in Europe many of us are still lagging behind, and the positive effects of your influence on inclusion are still being felt.

What actually happened is Joliot turned into a supervilain, he killed Pierre Curie before he could become a superhero, but was ultimately defeated by Henri Bequerel, who is immortal.
I thought this was common knowledge.
In the meantime Irene Joliot died of the radiations, as everybody would expect.

I work in construction and currently work on the restructuration of an active airport, with various worksite around the airport. I have a very cool badge that clearly states that I can access almost every place. Regularly, when I’m in a part of the airport that is in activity, I have people asking me directions, and I’m like : “No, I don’t know where gate 15 is, but I can tell you everything about the beam above your head if it helps…”

People win elections all the time. People celebrate elections all the time. The last time somebody taking power did a gesture that looked like this was probably in Germany, 1933. This is no coincidence.
