- Comment on What did you think of Sea of Stars? 11 months ago:
Anyone who says Sea of Stars is in the same echelon as “classic” JRPGs clearly didn’t play all the way through SoS or has not played many classic JRPGs. SoS was an okay game for what it was but I honestly don’t remember much about it a couple of months after finishing it, whereas games like Lunar and Persona will always contain good gaming memories for me.
- Comment on ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ Finds New Home At Netflix After Paramount+ Cancellation 1 year ago:
Correct me if I’m wrong but if anyone kills the show, wouldn’t it be Paramount? Netflix is just picking it up to stream on their service.
I know people have their issues with Netflix but I’m just relieved it’s not Peacock or some other service no one cares about.
- Comment on Stray is being turned into a movie 1 year ago:
I downloaded that movie on a whim for a long flight to Australia and it was surprisingly solid. I didn’t know the source material and assumed it was a original concept. Annapurna’s games are usually top tier so hopefully their movies will be as well.
- Comment on Can I replace my shower controls? 1 year ago:
I won’t mess with plumbing again after trying to replace my kitchen faucet only to discover that the shutoff was old and busted the moment I turned the knob, leading to water spraying out everywhere. Called in a plumber to fix it and it took him several hours to resolve–no chance I had the knowledge, skills, and tools to fix that.
- Comment on [Discussion] What is your go-to movie that you will never turn down? 1 year ago:
The Back to the Future trilogy. It’d only be a slight exaggeration to say I’ve watched those movies hundreds of times.

There was at least one unnamed, previously unseen red shirt on the bridge as well. That was a hint there was going to be a body count. Of course, it could also mean that no one dies and the production staff are just playing into our expectations.

HOLY CRAP, I AM SO GLAD I WENT INTO THIS SPOILER FREE!!!1!
Someone posted earlier this week that it looked like Captain Batel was having a really bad day, and yup, she definitely was. My heart sank when she revealed the Gorn egg infestation. My money’s on her being the sole “main” character casualty from the events of this episode.
I didn’t know Scotty was going to show up so that was a total surprise. Finding out he was Pelia’s perfect student who somehow flunked made all the sense in the world, ignoring the obvious small universe complaints.
I LOVED all the effects shots of the Cuyuga’s debris field. I initially thought crashing the remains of the saucer section into the Gorn jammer was complete overkill, like throwing a dinner plate at a toothpick, but then realized the jammer must have been absolutely massive and far away from the settlement. It looked like it was relatively nearby upon initial viewing which didn’t appear to be the case considering the explosion from when the saucer section hit it.
That cliffhanger, wow. I pray that they have the second half already written and aren’t going to do like TNG and wait to write the conclusion. It was mentioned in the TNG Companion that the writers only wrote the first part of their season ending cliffhangers and waited until closer to filming to write and finalize the second part which doesn’t seem like the best way to develop a strong resolution.
I love SNW so much. It’s going to be an agonizing wait until the new season, probably 2025 at this point? Argh.

I love the Enterprise-D so much I paid through the nose to get an Eaglemoss model of it for my work desk. I’m new to that whole side of collectibles and good lord, you can drop some serious coin on those.

I, too, like to place my garbage dump on the border so my neighbor can enjoy the aroma.
- Comment on Square Enix share price drops amid claims Final Fantasy 16 didn’t meet ‘high end’ expectations 1 year ago:
That Tomb Raider thing was completely asinine. It was a quality reboot of a series that had gone horribly off the rails with a lot of promise and Square tanked it with completely unreasonable expectations, apparently expecting sales in the dozens of millions. And here we are with FF apparently not meeting expectations as well–it’s easy to see where the issue is, and it’s not with the games.
- Comment on Why must it be this way? (but also I'd like shark please) 1 year ago:
I’m Asian. If my earwax is super dry and flaky, I hate to see the sludge coming out of other people’s ears.
As for deodorant, I switched to a smaller variety of Tom’s in my travel kit because the travel-sized ones from big box stores suck. I think the one I bought is aimed at women since their website shows bigger, blacker packaging for their deodorant aimed at men. I’m thinking of switching over to my travel kit ones on a permanent basis because of the fresh lemongrass and lavender scents.

You can do it! I have faith in you!

- Comment on SNW Musical Episode: Klingons’ Boy Band Number Was Almost an Opera 1 year ago:
For those who need a Klingon opera fix sooner, DS9’s “Playing God” had the Klingon restaurant owner singing opera with Jadzia. Just watched this episode yesterday in my series rewatch. Not sure how to clip to a timestamp but it’s about halfway into the video below:

Thanks for this! Another new channel to subscribe to for me after discovering Junkball a few months ago and binging most of his videos in a few days.

Somehow I’ve gone my entire life not knowing this monstrosity existed and is actually canon. Now I have to look for it in my current rewatch of DS9 when I get to the Dominion War.
I’m completely torn on it. It looks hideous but it makes sense as to why it exists. Like everyone else, I also thought it was too convenient that Voyager’s appearance didn’t change as it tried to return home, getting damaged by enemies or having bits simply wearing out and needing replacement without the luxury of starbases around.

Just like all Orions aren’t pirates, not all Klingons like opera. Some of them like…whatever that was that they sang.
- Comment on Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 2x09 "Subspace Rhapsody" 1 year ago:
I was fully expecting Pike to say something along the lines of “you mean we have to sing once more, with feeling?” as a not-so-subtle nod to Buffy.

I didn’t think they’d skip the opportunity to give us singing Klingons but the end result was just…wow. chef’s kiss
I absolutely love Pike’s “exasperated” face. It’s possibly a bit overused this season but it cracks me up every single time because it’s how I’d probably react if I were in his shoes and it’s so unlike how the previous Starfleet ship captains would react, even when the situation fully merited it.
- Comment on I call him Jim Carey Kirk. Am I wrong? 1 year ago:
Nope, Wesley’s resemblance to Jim Carrey’s Kirk (from In Living Color, for those too young to know the reference) was the first thing I thought about too. Fortunately Wesley is doing a fantastic job making the Kirk role his own.
