- Comment on What MMORPG are you playing, and why? 13 hours ago:
Palia, which is the closest I can get to a cozy, friendly MMORPG with a decent community. The lack of enemies doesn’t bother me, and I like feeling that I don’t need to grind for gear or status. That being said, the game desperately needs more content. I’m on hiatus at the moment.
As far as the others go, Everquest and World of Warcraft were/are still my favorites but I haven’t played them in years. MMORPGs are a dying breed, and today most if not all of them bring very little to the table. They don’t make 'em like they used to, that’s for sure.
These days, mostly I prefer single player RPGs where choices matter, or games that have base-building elements and open world survival. I really don’t care for playing with other murder hobos anymore.

I love how the Winter Sale starts and the entirety of all gamers DDoS the site. The prices are practically the same from the Autumn Sale.

“Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact same fucking thing over and over again, expecting shit to change. That is crazy.”
- Comment on GTA 6 will have a 'significant online mode' to generate revenue for years into the future 1 week ago:
That’s a good wisdom! I still have my original PS2 disc packed away, but I’d have to get a DVD drive for my PC (I haven’t had one for years). They’re cheap enough, and I’ve got a few other games as well. Thanks!

I want to get Dragon 8. Dunkey sold me on that shit.
- Comment on GTA 6 will have a 'significant online mode' to generate revenue for years into the future 1 week ago:
I’m fucking done with Rockstar after GTA5. Took a great franchise and fucking ruined it with online mode.
Also, I can’t play Vice City (still my favorite) on PC without the Social Club bullshit or downloading a cracked version (I gave up on pirated software), despite it being a single player game. Just another company I’m happy to boycott forever.
- Comment on itch.io was taken down by Funko because of some automated brand protection service 1 week ago:
Those things are so fucking hideous. A shark has more soul in its eyes than Funko trash.
- Comment on I hate when a PC game is ONLY available on Epic Games store 2 weeks ago:
The only games I have on EGS are the ones I collect via Amazon Prime. It’s basically a game key graveyard.
But GOG? That’s where all the good games come from.

I agree. Sean Murray took us all for a ride. Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle.
- Comment on Remembering the Corrupted Blood incident: That time WoW was overrun by a virtual plague now referenced by Covid-19 researchers 4 weeks ago:
If I remember correctly, this happened in Everquest Frontiers. You’d catch some shitty AoE debuff in town and give it to other people, including attackable NPCs like guards. Guards were not easy to kill, so they just carried that shit for weeks. The only way to remove the debuff was die, but it just kept spreading, so the best way was to not coach to other towns, but Freeport was basically fucked. That was SOE for ya, and they did that shit on purpose.

Meh, I stopped playing when zombies learned to dig. I miss my underground minibike tunnels.

Bring back Intelligent Qube. I still have the PS demo disc.
- Comment on How to decide what kind of controller one should purchase? 3 months ago:
I second this, great manufacturer. The 8BitDo Pro 2 is my personal preference. It looks like a Playstation and SNES controller did the fusion dance. I liked it so much I bought two: one for my PC and one for my Switch. It has a quality feel to it, excellent tactile response, and feels very comfortable in my hands.
- Comment on The Epic Games Store Officially Launches on Mobile Devices 3 months ago:
As a gamer for over 40 years, I don’t play games on my phone. I find it boring, monotonous, and repetitive, along with the ads, gatcha mechanics, and whatever trash they’re pushing. If I want to play a game, I’ll use my desktop or Switch.
- Comment on Buy 7 Days to Die at your own risk 4 months ago:
Agreed. I installed a few times since a17 (when I dropped it), but it hasn’t been the same since then. Definitely not worth the current price tag.
- Comment on Always Online / Live Service 5 months ago:
This is one of many reasons why I boycott a lot of AAA gaming companies nowadays. Not going to name names here, but they know who they are. I prefer indie devs/pubs, and stay the fuck away from anyone pushing FOMO crap, especially pre-order/early access DLC packages.

Not really a review channel, but Josh from Let’s Game It Out is my favorite. He loves to break games, whether they are polished or janky. One of the few YT creators that I actually allow subscription notices.
- Comment on Daybreak bought Palia studio Singularity 6 and aims to bring the game to launch 5 months ago:
I picked up a few outfits last month because I wanted to support them, but now I’m gun-shy. I’m not entirely thrilled at this prospect. If they add combat or start adding any stereotypical MMO crap (gachapon, pay2win, etc), I’m definitely out; I’ll go play Disney Dreamlight Valley instead.

How existential.
- Comment on Daybreak bought Palia studio Singularity 6 and aims to bring the game to launch 5 months ago:
Agreed, as they weren’t going to survive with their overpriced cosmetic shop being the only source of income. I will admit, I’m a bit worried with Daybreak picking it up, as they have a track record of ruining/killing games (personal experience), but I’m really hoping my feelings are misplaced.

Palia has crossplay between PC and Switch. It’s not your average game but has a great community.
- Comment on Star Citizen's first-person shooting is getting backpack-reloading, dynamic crosshairs, procedural recoil, and other improvements to 'bring the FPS combat to AAA standard' 9 months ago:
The phrase “AAA game/developer” has lost all meaning for me over the years. I just can’t drop the clichéd $60+ on these titles anymore, especially with quality and support waning. I don’t see this game being any different; the writing’s on the wall.
- Comment on What game fits this? 10 months ago:
Wurm Online/Unlimited
- Comment on What is the next "grown up game" now that Minecraft only goes for children? 11 months ago:
I started playing Minecraft Oct. 2010, and despite what you think, it wasn’t a “grown up game” and a LOT of kids played back then as they do today. The only difference is that Microsoft bought it and commercialized the shit out of it. Whatever, not the first time I’ve heard this bedtime story.
Meanwhile, if you don’t like the state of affairs in gaming, make your own game or help someone make one, but don’t come here with a shitty attitude that nothing meets your expectations. Be the change you want to see.
- Comment on What are some of the best mini-games youve played? (games inside games) 11 months ago:
FICSIT Productivity Packer Deluxe (Satisfactory). It’s a fun little game available at The HUB once it is fully upgraded. You take Tetris-like pieces and arrange them to fit within a square, completing as many squares as you can within the time limit to determine your score.
Then again, the real mini game in Satisfactory is the planning that goes into your factory while you are not playing the game. It’s the game that just keeps on giving.

You know when you tell a joke the first time and it didn’t land and no one laughed? Telling it again and again isn’t going to make it any better.
