They’re everywhere over here. It’s an inescapable aspect of life at least visually. Unless you never leave your home. Constant commercials too if you allow ads into your life. Which most people do unless they’re above average with tech. I’ll admit I’ll get an egg sandwich and a black coffee from there every once in a while. Their dinner menu is disgusting tho and completely overpriced these days.
- Comment on ‘Elden Ring’ Movie in the Works From ’Civil War’ Director Alex Garland, A24 5 days ago:
Civil War had the largest budget of any A24 film previously. This will probably tie or break that record.

If you use Signal it has a note to self feature which is really similar functionally to something like Pocket.

Same here. I refuse to do it. Even for a game I’ve been really eagerly anticipating. I’ll wait a few months for even a small sale now. Usually a good amount of bugs have been patched out by then anyway.

Those “luxury” apartments are glorified shoeboxes with shared patio and pool access.

Didn’t David Tennant just say in an interview recently that he was done with Doctor Who for a while? Or did he mean after this special?

A USB flash drive is a terrible medium for something like this.

Why not both?

Funny joke, but this type of smugness is why Democrats keep losing elections lol.

I always felt like Oblivion hit the sweet spot between accessibility and depth. It just lacks unique content.
- Comment on ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Has the Most Words Per Minute of Any TV Show, Study Finds 1 month ago:
I do think less dialogue can work great for setting an interesting atmospheric tone. Some of my favorite films have little to no dialogue. But yeah it is weird how many Star Wars shows follow this template. Some of them were very bad too. Interesting that Andor didn’t make this list.

Someone should tell her that it’s okay because no one actually watches SNL anyway.

I only watch a handful of new movies a year. Usually prefer to go back and watch old movies I’ve never seen before. Yet I really enjoyed this one.

- Comment on Google makes Android development private, will continue open source releases 2 months ago:
The main 2 challenges I can think of is lack of native app support, phone hardware being pretty proprietary, and lack of carrier compatibility. Any truly open phone OS would have to emulate Android or iOS apps which would be very demanding on resources. Or just exclusively have web apps and fully open source apps of which there are very few for phones. Then you’d have to reverse engineer the chips that talk to the towers and/or get cell carriers to release firmware. Just overall a mess that has basically translated into the smartphone market being dominated by megacorps.
