I thought I was unique, I was the one. It was true love, man. To find out about this betrayal, breaks my heart.

ONI is quite unique, but you can get similar depending on which bit you enjoy. Base building would be games like prison architect, systems would be games like Stationeers. Factorio maybe?

FWIW I agree with you. The people who don’t are purists or virtue signallers.
I would agree with not having AI art* or music and sounds. In games I’ve played with it in, it sounds so out of place.
However support to make coding more accessible with the use of a tool shouldn’t be frowned upon. I wonder if people felt the same way when C was released, and they thought everyone should be an assembly programmer.
The irony is that most programmers were just googling and getting answers from stackoverflow, now they don’t even need to Google.

- Comment on Are there any games like Starfield? 2 months ago:
In X4 you can walk around on ships and stations, jump in other ships etc. It’s very limited though, which is a shame.
The gameplay is fantastic though, you could lose days building an empire.

I’d always say PopOS for newbies to linux with nvidia cards, although admittedly its been a while since I’ve been on pop so I don’t know if that’s changed

Epic also tried (somewhat succeeded?) In bringing exclusivity to PC, a practice which should be banned.

Having played a fair bit of ESO on steam deck I have no idea what you mean. OK it’s not gonna run 120fps in 4k but it certainly ran fine.

Thank goodness for that, such a pain in games like overcooked

I would fully suggest trying the demo if you haven’t. It’s on steam. Took me about 40 mins to do both demo bits, but you can run around the whole ship.
I live in hope it will live up to the expectations. But I am fully aware I could be throwing my money away.

I really enjoyed the demo, enough to back the kickstarter which I haven’t done for years.
I played a ton of ST:bridge crew so looking for something to scratch that itch.

Finally. Having 4 bile titans and 30 chargers chasing you around the map along with constant bug spawns gets a bit much when I dont have that much time to play.
Always take a Recoilless Rifle so will be glad to actually feel like I’m helping instead of chipping away at armor.

They have/had a linux stadia port working so they technically could get it working, but bungie have always been anti-linux so it’s most likely not technical challenges.
