Uh, when I first got an AR-15 about ten years ago, I went to Walmart first to see what they had. They had a bunch on a rotating rack you could pick up. Magazines and ammo were inside a glass shelf next to it. You just bought it all there, the only thing they did was walk you out of the store before handing it over.
I didn’t actually end up buying one though, I was given one by a local gun store as payment for saving them about $3500 a year on their IT bill and building them PCs. A nice little mostly custom AR chambered in .300 BLK. My father-in-law took it hog hunting one year.
- Comment on How do you moderate yourself? 1 year ago:
Listen, if you are neglecting your household chores or other important duties, then it doesn’t really matter how much time you spend playing games. Time you enjoyed spending is never wasted, and if you enjoy playing games on your downtime, then do it.

I dunno how fun it would be alone, because dwarves are a race that are all about being together and some of the features lean into that, but we’re having a lot of fun with it. It’s challenging, but not to the point where we feel overwhelmed or lost. And the atmosphere it has is just right, they did a great job taking what we know from the books and the style we got from the movies, and turning that into a video game.

Return to Moria. It’s a lot of fun, adventuring through a Dwarven mine with a few friends. It was hard to put down, but I suppose we need to eat and sleep at some point.

I’m having a ton of fun playing it with friends. One of the best games I’ve played this year. We had to drag ourselves off of it so we could go to sleep.

You can play both Epic and GOG games on the Steam Deck, and you can do it with or without the Epic and GOG launchers. Your choice. I did so today, in fact.
The Steam Deck runs Linux. That means anything that runs on Linux, and most things that run on Windows or Android can be run. Including Windows-only software.
Idk why people act in this day and age like the Steam Deck is some crippled device. Unless your desktop runs Linux, your Steam Deck can run more things than it can.
- Comment on YouTube suspends monetisation of Russell Brand's channel 1 year ago:
They aren’t making more ad revenue off of his channel, because demonetized channels do not display ads via Google. It doesn’t mean shit if he’s innocent. The court of public opinion is the only court that matters to marketing departments, and he’s hot enough right now that no corporation is going to want to be associated with him.
- Comment on YouTube suspends monetisation of Russell Brand's channel 1 year ago:
Demonetize means they don’t show ads on his channel at all. So they aren’t making money off of him.
And it’s a smart move by them, because whether or not he’s guilty, no corporation is gonna be happy if Google displays their ads on his content right now. The court of public opinion is the only court that matters to marketing departments.

First of all, punishing devs you don’t like is a slippery slope that opens a lot of people to abuse they don’t deserve. Second of all, I would be very surprised if any of those asset flip games are going to be making $200k. Third, they specifically state in the article you won’t be able to install bomb a dev just because you don’t like them.
- Comment on Can we please unpin the proprietary off-site/off-network promotion of discord 1 year ago:
Fucking hell, this again.
Listen, you people need to realize a lot of people are here on Lemmy because Reddit screwed them over, not because Lemmy is open source or less of a privacy issue or whatever your reasons for using it are.
So you hate Discord. That’s fine, you’re allowed to! But pitching a fit because everyone else doesn’t hate it isn’t gonna convince anyone to stop using it.
- Comment on What is the worst US state to live in generally? 1 year ago:
Idk why people are downvoting you, Aplalachia is one of the poorest regions in the United States, where there is little opportunity and a real lack of quality education. On top of that, drugs have ravaged the area, and the people are clinging desperately to a coal industry that is vanishing at a steady rate. Instead of looking for an alternative industry to boost their economy, the people there have doubled down, making some of the villages there literal ghost towns.
Its a shame too, because they have a beautiful country and a growing tourism industry that wants to take advantage of that. They need to lean real hard into the hospitality side so they can jumpstart their economy.
