- Comment on What's your favorite game that you will NEVER finish? 9 months ago:
There Is a game call Ancient Domains of Mystery (ADoM) that has been around since the early 90's. It's a traditional Roguelike that I picked up and started playing in 2003 and I have yet to actually beat the game. I have thousands of hours on it in Steam and much much more than that before the Steam release and I have yet to actually win. It's hard.

I kinda wish the article has expanded on what he said, if anything. Does he still think they are well made games even if he doesn't like the direction?
Like, I don't like the new Zelda games, I don't think they have stayed true to the original Zelda (not you Zelda II) games. That said, I cannot deny that a lot of care and polish went into them, I just don't like the direction.
Sure, the new God of War games are not the original avatar-of-rage Kratos but they are still exceptional games.

The antenna looking piece of wire is the ground so it doesn't matter if it picks up anything.
- Comment on Tax time 11 months ago:
How it actually works is that the IRS doesn't known how much you need to pay. You provide your income and taxes already paid throughout the year then the IRS says "yeah, looks about right for what you made" or here's money back you paid to much or didn't pay enough. It only gets complicated when you have huge amounts of money.

Not really. If they schedule oil changes every 6 months the mileage check is to see if they should also schedule like a transmission check so you don't have to keep coming back

Right, but what they are saying is that the relevant law does not address LGBT people either.

I can only speak for the US, and even then, only for my state of Illinois, but I had to provide my ID and proof of residency when I registered to vote. After that just my name, address, and signature were needed during the actual election.

Mom come pick me up. I'm scared.
I actually had this game pre-ordered a long while back but with the huge upheaval around the developer I canceled it. I haven't played any other games by this developer but I like the concept art. Still, I remain ever apprehensive.
- Comment on Do folks managing servers mainly do so via command-line interfaces? 1 year ago:
I think you kind of missed the forest for the trees here. Those 20 command lines that run in the background will take the same amount of time to complete each task as manually entering them, sure. But the benefit is that you take less time to overall because I don't care how fast you are with typing, you still have to enter 20 commands instead of just the 4 buttons.

Worst they can do is deny me entry to the country
Well the worst they can do is
Put me on a no-fly list, terrorist watchlist or even arrest me
Not having jurisdiction has famously never stopped China. Just ask Tibet. Or any country that wants to sail international waters in the south China sea. Or Hong Kong. Or Taiwan.
Lastly, You are correct about China not sharing data with FVEY countries but don't think for a second that they are not sharing that info with Russia, Iran, or any other countries that actively seek to harm.
If a country is going to in some way use my data against me, I'd at least like to know the language and what my rights in that country are.

You jest but honestly if I'm going to be spied on and my data harvested either way I'd prefer if it was my home country. At least Theoretically something could be done about it like petition my elected officials or sue. Can't really do that with a foreign country.
