I recommend reading up on human history beyond what your government decided to teach and not teach you.
- Comment on How do you avoid AI music? 6 days ago:
I don’t stream music, I buy albums on Bandcamp pretty much exclusively for lack of better options. Then I play them to death, and buy another handful. Some piracy. Some vinyl purchases.
I haven’t come across any AI slop in my favourite genres top of the month lists on Bandcamp yet.

The werewolf in Skyrim got physics enabled flaccid dong because I wanted to helicopter in VR and thought it only changed humanoid NPC and player character, not monsters. It was a super funny surprise seeing that giant salami flopping around in the scripted scene for whatever quest that was. Good job, dev.

In this case I’m teferring to the Wonder Valley AI data centre campus, it’s proposed for northwestern Alberta, near Grande Prairie.
- Comment on If I went to a mechanic for my car and told them I had a problem with the aft starboard tire would they think I'm a dork? 1 week ago:
Yes.
Unless you drive a 70’s Cadillac or something equally gigantic that barely moves with all that displacement, in which case it’s a pretty good joke about driving a boat ;)

- Comment on Do you think that Trump is being blackmailed? 1 week ago:
Do you think there is anything unknown at this point that’d actually make a difference? Even saying Trump xould rape a child live on Fox News wouldn’t hurt him old hat now. I don’t buy into the idea that his voter base and staff will magically grow a conscience in response to…anything.
- Comment on me looking at my 190 cm/110 kg daddy 1 week ago:
6’5” here. Because very few people are noticeably taller than I am, when I meet someone who is it’s a crazy experience especially 7ft+.
I can recall being stun locked by having to look up at someone much taller than me 5 times total in my 35 years alive so far since middle school.
The opposite doesn’t really phase me until I’m physically holding a significant other. Then I’m like holy shit you’re tiny! Dunno why it doesn’t quite register until then.
- Comment on Which browser do you recommend for a low-resource PC? 2 weeks ago:
Maybe something intended for weak hardware and older versions of Windows:

A Linux install with something lightweight like XFCE for desktop environment would do better probably.

Out of those 3 in 4, how many do you think would accept new information about how they’re wrong about caged chickens being a thing of the past without getting weird about it?
- Comment on Microsoft admits Game Pass price hike drove away "millions" of subscribers 2 weeks ago:
I never subbed even after using free trials because all of these subscription services follow the same capitalist shareholder corporate path, doesn’t matter what it’s for.
Initially cheap, good “value” and designed to be habit forming to retain their userbase. Operate at a loss. Then they jack the price up every year once they hit a magic number userbase goal and start cutting costs at the same time. Quality drops, price goes up.

There’s many studies, so here’s two:

tl;dr: the massively increased rate of rocket launches and re-entry satellite burn-ups is creating a significant amount of pollution that is probably damaging the Ozone layer.
- Comment on What happened to us Pirates? We used to sail the web and never even thought about reprecussions just sharing. Now it seems like it costs to be a pirate like a VPN and such. WTH happened? 3 weeks ago:
Canada is still a piracy safe haven, I don’t use VPN. I get funni letters sometimes and laugh at them. Prosumer reseller ISP don’t give a dang. Penalty caps are so low that it’s basically malicious compliance at the Federal level, so nobody gets sued because there’s no money in it for the copyright trolls. Just have to avoid dealing directly with the telecom mafia: Rogers, Shaw, Telus.
Tbh I use direct download as a source more than torrents these days. There’s a lot of free hosts now that aren’t painful to use like in the past when you needed to pay a subscription to some company like Rapidshare to get anything done on sites like Warez-bb.

- Comment on What is it about Mark Zuckerberg's appearance or demeanor that creeps people out? 3 weeks ago:
We could say that it’s not that he’s on the spectrum. It’s that he is while also being evil, so it’s mixed with something else that’s anti social and unfortunate. I don’t know how much of it is by choice. He was a bad person even before becoming ultra rich. Insert “dumb fucks” quote here.

The latest puzzle: what the viroids doin’ in our guts? Nobody knows, we are only just realised they are widespread and not exclusive to flowers or whatever Anton told me. Tiny simple RNA smudges that are too simple to even qualify as a virus.
I feel like they’re as close to abiogenesis as we’ll ever get, with these living fossils.
