I attended preschool at 4. I recall distinctive memories of that experience.
My parents got divorced the same week I turned 5. We moved…
I recall the house I grew up in. The playset. The sand box. The dogs. The neighbors. The neighborhood. The exact address. The phone number. Riding my bike around, parts of the town I grew up in(we moved out of that town and indeed never lived there since). Even climbing trees. Friends. Getting blue ribbons in track. I was a great sprinter. All from before I was 5.
The dog wrapped itself around the tree and died right after my 4th birthday, like in July or August.
I don’t recall my 3rd birthday party, though. But I recall my 4th. I recall my babysitter. Haha, my dad even had me golfing.

Faith isn’t gnosis(knowledge.)
Faith is precisely believing in something without any evidence.
Thus the famous saying: it takes a leap of faith.
Of course, that’s why it’s so appealing. All gods are personal gods. A real time make believe. A real life fantasy, oh yea.

As I recall Go players have adapted and have found ways to induce hallucinations and beat the machine, some using other AI. Others have adopted “adversarial strategies.”
They say it’s comprehensible enough that a human “expert” can do it without algorithmic assistance.

A black hat is a malicious(evil) hacker. The goal is unauthorized access of remote computer systems, typically. The closer to root the better.
A grey hat is a neutral hacker. Probably mostly a curiosity, no good or bad intent. Perhaps like someone who’s trying to reverse engineer a game console because they own a lot of games and they’re just curious how it all works. Or someone that just wants to make a backup of a movie (circumvent DRM.)
A white hat is a benevolent hacker that seeks to fix exploits that black hats use to perform their crimes. And they often target the greys(but usually the lawyers are more effective there.)

- Comment on What was the first game you ever bought ? 3 weeks ago:
Illusion of Gaia at an Alco for Christmas. A great SNES game. Graphics have aged very well and gameplay is still solid. It’s an ARPG like Zelda kind of. Lots of puzzles. Swap out your character for other heroes occasionally to tackle different puzzles/dungeons.
I was pretty young, around 11. It was in the clearance bin, like 30 bucks. I was initially kind of disappointed because most of the games there we had or they sucked. But that one stuck out. Was definitely worth it.
A couple Christmas(I was 13) later I got FF7 for PC. I had previously beaten 1 and 3(6). FF6 was great. I’d play that game start to finish in about 8 hrs. Which really isn’t that bad for 100% run.
Then I got really into StarCraft (bnet) UMS games. Cat v mouse varieties were especially fun.

Who gives a fuck? I can play you’re game “as intended” or my way. Mods make games awesome.
If someone wants to play with AI slop mode fully enabled, that’s their choice and their prerogative and I’m assuming they bought the game so how about they just enjoy it however the hell they want to.
- Comment on Jensen Huang says gamers are 'completely wrong' about DLSS 5 — Nvidia CEO responds to DLSS 5 backlash 4 weeks ago:
That’s Sami-correct… They don’t really regurgitate as much as they hallucinate/bullshit. Which… Verbatim regurgitation would probably be preferable. Like, how many answers (however wrong or right) do you need? I would love an AI that didn’t bullshit and would just give a simple correct answer and isn’t going to change that based on how you ‘prompt engineer’ it.

These people are likely conversing with AI daily… If you talk to AI a lot… It’ll rub off on you. At least that’s my guess from a neuroscience perspective. It’s like the hive mind effect, basically.

My favorite mod for ff7 was when they took the battle figures and used them on the over world. That game had awful geometry.
Ff8 was better. IMO ff9 looked fantastic (for the era.)
