- Comment on What difficult games/game challenges did you give up on? 10 months ago:
So so so many. Right off the top of my head:
- Guild Wars Season 2, one of the later missions. It was stealth gameplay. I hate stealth. Paid someone 100g to run it for me.
- FTL's boss.
- Warframe's Glassmaker season fight with Nihil.
- Currently, Ace Combat 7's Pipeline Destruction.
- Comment on Valve says it is committed to the Steam Deck, has a "road map" 1 year ago:
Same, Valve needs to get the international distributorship rolling!
- Comment on Living in privately rented homes linked to faster biological ageing, study finds 1 year ago:
Yikes, even if agreed upon having to let someone in for inspections every 6 months sounds tiring.

Living in a place where renting is not the norm, what's this about 18 year olds coming to your home every 6 months?
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
Ah, I see, you're on "All", on the left tab. Hit the "Photo" and you should see it. They're really hiding the cheaper option now!
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
Because it's aimed at photographers who raised a huge stink in the first place (I was one of them).
You don't have to use it in the cloud too, all my camera photos are sitting in my drives, none of them have been uploaded to Adobe's servers.
PS and LR at this price is cheaper than the perpetual licenses if I upgraded every other cycle, so it's been cheaper for me. Of course there's still cheaper alternatives for PS now (Affinity Photo is really good), but since I still use LR a lot and the cost is bearable, I stay on it.

Workflow just wasn't as good, it didn't have a lot of the little features (search was definitely not as nice to use), and as a Nikon shooter back then, it never nailed the Nikon colours the way I wanted without very heavy post-processing, which was time I didn't want to spend.

Seriously, using a 4 year old article to justify your stance?
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
I'll try it again, but several years ago when I tried it I didn't find it as good.
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
No, it's still US$10 for me for both. I wonder if it's a regional thing, or Adobe are being sneaky bastards and hiding the cheaper version of the plan somewhere.
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
Eh, would you prefer that to be US$20 each instead? Why are you ideologically opposed to something when there are benefits?
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
They need to do a LR replacement, then I'll just switch to Affinity.
- Comment on Epic Games to update Unreal Engine pricing for devs not making games 1 year ago:
Photography plan should still be US$10 for both PS and LR.
- Comment on Are smart door locks more or less secure than traditional door locks? 1 year ago:
Beat me to it! Locks are just but one part of securing your home.
- Comment on Are smart door locks more or less secure than traditional door locks? 1 year ago:
LPL is quite a bit better than your average thief though, and if you attract enough attention to have this kind of expertise thrown at you, you need to worry more than just locks.
- Comment on Do younger people go home earlier now? Or go out less? Is it since COVID? 1 year ago:
If we invite our kids or niece/nephew to dinner they always want to go at 6/630 which feels so early.
I hate to break this to you... but it's likely because they want to do their own things as well.
- Comment on What mildly infuriates me is the lack of content control in this sub 1 year ago:
It's called reviewing content to stay on topic.
- Comment on What mildly infuriates me is the lack of content control in this sub 1 year ago:
Absolutely, I think one of the small perks that come with moving out of Reddit is being able to create your own communities as you see fit.
- Comment on The cozy cat game that escaped from Valve 1 year ago:
I tried the demo, but it suffers from the same issue that tight urban 3rd person view games have: A camera that jumps a lot when swinging it around due to obstacles and walls.
- Comment on User flooding instance with (mostly) empty communities 1 year ago:
I can't imagine moderating more than 3-4 popular communities, or 6-10 lower activity niche ones. That's assuming I had a ton of free time to do so too!
- Comment on PC Game Recommendation for a Broken Arm? 1 year ago:
Anything that is turn-based will work really, or doesn't rely on a real-time mechanic.
I do suggest looking at a small trackball that you can use in the meantime. It'll be useful for the times when you need a pointing device in a smaller space, for whatever reason.

- Comment on "Barbie" makes history as film surpasses $1B in box office sales 1 year ago:
6/10 for me, but yes, it's fun and gets uneven, with said cringey bits.
- Comment on Microsoft’s repairability push now extends to Xbox controllers, too 1 year ago:
Noted a disproportionate number of complaints about the Elite controller. Is it a case of perception (expensive controller so any faults are amplified), or the customer base that buys them (hardcore gamers who thus put more hours into the controller and work them harder), or both? I have the basic Xbox One controller as well as the newer one, and I've no complaints. As a PC gamer they aren't my main controllers so they don't get to see that much use, probably about 100 hours a year at most.
