- Comment on Final Fantasy III, IV, VIII and IX are now available on GOG 1 day ago:
Oh nice. FF3 amd FF4 are the weird 3D remakes though, not the original ones. I remember playing one of these on mobile long ago, I wasn’t aware a PC version even existed.
- Comment on Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam? 2 days ago:
Isn’t most of that from consoles and mobile?
- Comment on Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam? 3 days ago:
Because Steam is the world’s biggest games store on PC while Epic is statistically insignificant. What’s the question?

I remember my friend hyping it up when the Kickstarter launched in 2017… I’m aching for a new MMORPG but it’s so unfortunate all the new ones either come out half-baked or flop completely.
- Comment on Day 560 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 1 week ago:
Combat is fun and similar to Hades but not quite as deep. That said the community management aspect is a big part of the game so if you’re not into that you might struggle, there’s a lot of deciding what to build / talking to your cult.
- Comment on close to finishing Super Mario Odyssey and was wondering which games are similar 1 week ago:
Seconding A Hat in Time. It’s probably the closest platformer to Mario Odyssey that isn’t Mario. The last DLC (Nyakuza Metro) is especially worth your time.
- Comment on How GOG fixed Cold Fear | GOG Tech Talk 1 week ago:
Praying that one day GOG can strike a deal with console owners to bring old abandoned game to PC. I know decompiles exist but you basically need to pirate the games to play them which is very inaccessible.
- Comment on Ubisoft has cancelled 6 games, including the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake | VGC 2 weeks ago:
Crazy that the Sands of Time remake was supposed to come out early 2021… Remakes are supposed to be quick projects for easy money, how could Ubisoft mess it up that much? Sands of Time isn’t even a long game!
One was a cancelled mobile game but now I’m curious what the other 4 were. I guess we’ll never find out as they funnel all that money to their successful live-service stuff.

- Comment on Bully Online, the ambitious mod that brought multiplayer and more to Rockstar's classic school sim, shuts down a month after launch: 'This was not something we wanted' 2 weeks ago:
Not only stupid in general but extremely stupid considering Rockstar already made it clear they don’t like 3rd party mods when they were taking down GTA RP servers.
- Comment on Hytale is OUT NOW in early access! 3 weeks ago:
It’s basically Minecraft but with a bigger focus on RPG elements, exploration, and combat. It’s a safe bet that if you like MC you’ll enjoy this.

- Comment on Pet Peeves with Games? 3 weeks ago:
So many games have like ~10-15 seconds of unskippable logos whenever you open the game and it pisses me off every single time. I don’t understand why they still do this.
- Comment on Clues by Sam 4 weeks ago:
Pretty clever and surprisingly difficult, I was stuck on Bruce for the longest time.
- Comment on The 2025 Steam Awards Winners 4 weeks ago:
Nor does Valve, since Arc Raiders was in the category.
Valve doesn’t decide anything, the whole Steam awards are voted by the community. It’s a popularity contest.
- Comment on Do you preorder games? 5 weeks ago:
I very very rarely pre-order but if reviews are out and you’re already planning on buying it, it could be worth it. Some stores provide a discount for pre-ordering games, I got Elden Ring for 15% off before it even released which is nice.

There’s !nomanssky@lemmy.world but it’s not super active. You’re bound to find some fans in the general gaming communities like this one though.
I’m new to Lemmy BTW.
Welcome!

- Comment on Skyrim on Switch 2 ships with severe input lag and a huge 53GB file size despite being capped at 30FPS 1 month ago:
How is this Nintendo’s fault lol
The Switch 2 could absolutely handle Skyrim at 60fps if not 120, it’s not their fault Bethesda half-assed the port.

It’s releasing next month, so you won’t have to wait much longer.

Sweet. There have been a lot of Rhythm Heaven clones over the years, but this one looks like the most promising.
- Comment on Neath - Announcement Trailer [from Cellar Door Games, makers of Rogue Legacy] 1 month ago:
Not at all what I expected from the Rogue Legacy devs. It looks like Into the Breach but with a fantasy/DnD style. Keeping my eye on this one.
- Comment on Creator of Hit Game Shovel Knight Is at a ‘Make or Break’ Moment 2 months ago:
Great article, but a very painful one to read. Mina the Hollower was one of my most anticipated games this year, and it sucked that it got delayed the same month it was supposed to release in.
What was once considered a less ambitious side project is now the company’s largest game ever. “We basically had to redo everything,” D’Angelo says. If they’d all stuck together from the beginning, Gordon says, “we would’ve finished it two to three years ago.”
So it sounds like the game got delayed because they were split into two teams. One was working on a 3D Shovel Knight sequel, and one was working on Mina the Hollower. The person directing the latter was struggling and slowed down the project, so they fired a bunch of people, focused on Mina, and basically restarted its development.
The good news is that if things go to plan, they said they’ll revisit the 3D Shovel Knight game. I’m really looking forward to that.

Oh my god, I’ve wanted to play this game like 10 years ago but avoided doing so because I heard it’s pay to win. Soon I can finally find out what it’s all about. Being patient pays off!
