There’s the Canvas that happens once every year where people can place pixels on a massive grid. I think there was also one more thing that happened a while ago but I can’t remember what it was.

This is the type of stuff I love to see on the fediverse
- Comment on Disney may be interested in acquiring Epic Games at some point, it’s claimed 5 days ago:
Not just Tim, but Tencent also owns a massive stake in Epic and I sincerely doubt they would want to give up their position.
- Comment on How long until the rise of games with mods turns into user created games. 6 days ago:
I’m both super excited and very worried about this project. It has so much potential but there’s so little hype around it that it might not have enough creators and users. It’s also going to be paid which might be a tough sell considering other platforms like Roblox are free.
I tried the dev preview though, it’s pretty rad.
- Comment on Former Nippon Ichi Software president says the “salaryman-ification” of Japan’s game industry is why there are fewer “individual creators” like Hideo Kojima and Suda51 - AUTOMATON WEST 1 week ago:
This happened to the industry worldwide. As studios became way bigger and jobs became way more specific, nobody is really allowed to do anything outside of their field. Back then, companies were small and everyone had a hand at making the game. People also wore many hats so they would get experience on making different parts of the game from start to finish.
Now? In AAA companies you work some super specific field like “junior gameplay combat designer” and you won’t have the opportunity to work on anything else and you’re in a company with 500 people that all have different opinions so anything you suggest will be ignored.

I know everyone expected prices to go up but $650 for a regular PS5? OOOFFFFF.
- Comment on Today’s layoffs (Epic Games official post) 1 week ago:
It was pretty popular, but there was way more competition in the PS2/PS3 era, and some studios still made their own engine.
- Comment on Today’s layoffs (Epic Games official post) 1 week ago:
How about they stop fucking milking Fortnite and makes something else…
Eh… Epic isn’t really a game development company anymore, Fortnite just happened to pop off before Unreal Engine became the defacto engine for large scale games and CGI in television/movies. They’re gonna keep working on Fortnite but it’s clear their focus is UE6 - I doubt they’re going to make another game ever again.

I have no idea how people put up with it, my hand starts hurting 5 minutes into playing MH on the psp. I played maybe 20 minutes total, said “nope”, and never played it again.
- Comment on Why Everyone’s Picking Up a PSP Again in 2026 (my article!) 1 week ago:
Yeah, SD2Vita is the standard and are usually found for ~$6. You put an SD card into it, then slot it into the game card slot to expand your storage.

If you’re into racing, also check out Midnight Club 3. Great game.
- Comment on Why Everyone’s Picking Up a PSP Again in 2026 (my article!) 1 week ago:
Whaaaat? The PSP had a great collection of games, you might be thinking of the Vita that had barely anything in it. You got Tekken, God of War spinoffs, Patapon, lots of racing games, metal gear solid, lots of JRPGs, among other things.
Its main issue was the lack of a right stick so many 3D games either didn’t get ported or had horrendous controls (monster hunter…)
- Comment on Why Everyone’s Picking Up a PSP Again in 2026 (my article!) 1 week ago:
Last year I bought a PS Vita and I’d highly recommend that instead if you can find one for cheap! The Vita can natively run PSP games via Adrenaline, and you get the advantage of Vita games and homebrew (and a better screen).
That said, I’m a long time PSP Go lover. It’s basically the PSP in a smaller, pocketable form factor. I would absolutely get that if you can get your hands on one.

Surely this means they’ll announce the rumored FF9 Remake soon so they both release near the same time… Surely…
- Comment on "Palworld is going to be the survival crafting game everyone always wanted" and "people will be shocked" at how big 1.0 is, says Pocketpair publishing lead 2 weeks ago:
I hope so. I played the game last year and everything felt a bit lackluster and janky. It’s a pretty fun game, but I hope 1.0 adds that polish it needs.
- Comment on Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game 2 weeks ago:
One is upscaling the image while preserving it as much as possible, the other is applying a filter to try and “enhance” it. What’s hard to get?
- Comment on Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game 2 weeks ago:
I’m aware of how it works, but the results aren’t bad. Worst case scenario is you get some ghosting with DLSS, but it’s far from what I’d call AI slop.
- Comment on Nvidia Announces DLSS 5, and it adds... An AI slop filter over your game 2 weeks ago:
Not really, DLSS mostly just reduces the resolution of a game and then upscales it back up. It does a pretty good job of making the game still look (almost) exactly the same. This, however, completely changes what you’re looking at.

Yup, I played more and it turns out there’s a ton of content, including alternate stages with different enemies/bosses. This game is so good.

I’ve been using Fluxer recently. It’s been pretty nice since they migrated the servers, and as soon as self-hosting and federation gets added (which is top priority according to Herman), I hope people will switch over.
- Comment on Slay the Spire 2 Launches, Immediately Shatters a Concurrent Player Record on Steam 4 weeks ago:
Played a few runs, the game is pretty darn fun as you might expect but since it’s still in early access it might not have that much content yet. I will say it feels like a much more polished and fun version of StS1 so far, and I haven’t even tried multiplayer yet.

That’s really disappointing, I was looking forward to the Returnal sequel and that Wolverine game.
- Comment on Event: Due Process Gamer Pool 4 weeks ago:
Man, I remember this. Me and my friend bought it on release and refunded it. It was lacking a lot, and the playerbase was already dead. The few people we did play with just ran forward alone and died.

Nintendo has been doing indie showcases for years now, they’re pretty well received by devs and players from what I understand.
- Comment on 5 weeks ago:
I’m totally keeping my eye on the emulator, but from what I heard it still needs more time. I’ve heard of occasional crashes, vertex explosions, random graphical issues happening. Also, it needs a really good computer to run at 60fps.
I’m excited for when it does work flawlessly, but I do wish they’d just port a native version to PC.
- Comment on 5 weeks ago:
It really doesn’t need a remake, it just needs a port to modern systems, upscaled textures, and bumped up to 60fps. It doesn’t need anything else, and it’s weird that Fromsoft hasn’t bothered to do any of that.
It makes sense that they wouldn’t want Bluepoint to do a full remake too because they took a lot of weird liberties in Demon’s Souls IMO. They’re 10/10 technically but they changed things that didn’t need to be changed and refused to touch things that everybody wanted changed (why is the gargoyle’s AI still broken…)
- Comment on Pokémon Winds and Waves announced, releasing 2027 5 weeks ago:
Huh, so they’re actually going to wait a year. I honestly expected them to push a Pokemon game ASAP for the Switch 2, but I guess it’s better that they take their time than release a mess like Scarlet & Violet.
- Comment on What do you guys think of Crimson Desert? 1 month ago:
Indifferent to it. It looks nice but I’ll wait until reviews and early impressions before deciding to play it.
It looks pretty nice but definitely has the potential to be a bloated mess with how many things are crammed into it.
