- Comment on Mina The Hollower Is Now Metacritic's Highest-Rated Game Of 2026 12 hours ago:
I’ve played around 7 hours since release, it’s really good! It’s literally Castlevania x Zelda, taking so much inspiration from both for its mechanics and themes. The art and music is just chef’s kiss. Everything about the game is full of charm.
Fair warning though, the game is pretty tough. Not “NES Castlevania” levels of hard, but you will die a lot. The game has a ton of modifiers that can make the game easier if you need them though. In fact, it has a ton of modifiers that can even make the game harder for challenge runs or wackier modifiers for future playthroughs. So cool. I’ll definitely be playing through again once I’m done with it.

Or do we continue to pretend there has only ever been one Matrix movie?
Yeah pretty much.
- Comment on Day 680 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing 2 days ago:
Aside from brakes 200cc really clicked when I started using sports bikes which force you to turn way faster when drifting. Lets you take corners way faster which is great for most maps in that gamemode.

Also this probably isn’t long for this world since the most popular Club Penguin server got DMCA’d and shut down a while back.
- Comment on Ken Levine's Judas Could Slip Nearly Three More Years, Putting BioShock Successor Eleven Years Deep in Development 5 days ago:
It’s a Ken Levine game, this is totally expected. If anyone’s aware the creator is notorious for making games that take forever and succumbing to development hell before the studio steps in and finishes it for him. Bioshock Infinite had so much cut content and reworks and even Ken admitted if the studio didn’t tell him to stop messing around, the game wouldn’t have seen the light of day.
Still very excited for this game though. At the very least, it’ll be good if it ever launches.
- Comment on What is a game you can’t understand why its so popular ? 1 week ago:
Guild Wars 2.
I mean I can kind of see what makes it so popular but I gave it a fair shake and even got into the first DLC after reaching the max level and I was just utterly bored. The story is super mediocre, the combat is mediocre, the world looks nice but is really boring, everything is just grind after checklist after grind… I kept wondering when it gets fun and it never really does. People kept selling it to me as the greatest MMORPG out there and it might be one of the most boring, at least IMO.
It’s also a confusing jumbled mess of 500 different mechanics that don’t fit well together, the game never explains how crafting works or where you can find the materials you need or what 99% of the items are used for. It doesn’t explain why you would want to beat bosses or do dungeons because all of the rewards are very superficial and useless. The devs gave up having to explain anything so the game just constantly points you to the wiki which is indecipherable unless you know exactly what to do.
I’ve played a lot of MMOs and enjoyed all of them except GW2.

I adore soulslikes but I won’t argue people who flaunt how good they are for beating them are really annoying.
- Comment on The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales boasts stunning visuals and great real-time action 1 week ago:
People have been saying it since the game was announced but at this point it feels like it’s too late. Maybe it sounds better in Japanese but boy is that title long and boring. They should’ve just called it “The Millennium Tales” and gotten rid of the first half.
Either way, the game does look pretty awesome. Nice to have a classic action RPG in this style instead of another turn based RPG.
- Comment on Hands On with the Anbernic RG Rotate: Weird, Unique, and Instantly my Favorite 1 week ago:
If you’re looking for something akin to the GBA-SP but modern, check out the Anbernic RG34XX-SP.
It looks almost the same as the GBA-SP, but with better everything and can emulate other systems. Same aspect ratio too which makes it perfect for GBA emulation, and it comes in fun colors.
- Comment on Hands On with the Anbernic RG Rotate: Weird, Unique, and Instantly my Favorite 1 week ago:
It’s such a cool and unique device but it’s hard to be interested in it with all its downsides.
- No headphone jack
- Terrible back-firing speaker (almost guaranteed to be muffled by your hand)
- 2000mAh battery only
Maybe if they ever make a version 2 I might pick it up, but for now I’ll probably stick with my RG35XX-H for a looooong time.
- Comment on The Web Design Museum released 44 classic Cartoon Network Flash games from the early 2000s, now playable in the browser. 2 weeks ago:
These aren’t all the Cartoon Network games by the way. If you’re thinking of one that isn’t included, you can find and play it in the Flashpoint Archive.

FWIW according to an insider, this is a bug. People have been saying this menu is for PS+ games that expire when your subscription runs out.

Seamless co-op is soooo goooood. I never realized how much I wanted a full co-op experience in souls games until that dropped, I ended up playing through the game twice with friends.
Also if we’re doing mods, Elden Ring Convergence and Elden Ring Randomizer are also excellent and worth your time.

- Comment on Cave Story+ gets surprise update with mod support, console improvements ported to PC 1 month ago:
Oh my god YES. I remember when people endlessly complained that the console versions had more bonus content and improvements that the PC version never got. Nice of them to add them so many years later… Someone from the company must really like the game to go through this much effort for a random update.

Not just Tim, but Tencent also owns a massive stake in Epic and I sincerely doubt they would want to give up their position.
- Comment on How long until the rise of games with mods turns into user created games. 1 month ago:
I’m both super excited and very worried about this project. It has so much potential but there’s so little hype around it that it might not have enough creators and users. It’s also going to be paid which might be a tough sell considering other platforms like Roblox are free.
I tried the dev preview though, it’s pretty rad.
- Comment on Former Nippon Ichi Software president says the “salaryman-ification” of Japan’s game industry is why there are fewer “individual creators” like Hideo Kojima and Suda51 - AUTOMATON WEST 1 month ago:
This happened to the industry worldwide. As studios became way bigger and jobs became way more specific, nobody is really allowed to do anything outside of their field. Back then, companies were small and everyone had a hand at making the game. People also wore many hats so they would get experience on making different parts of the game from start to finish.
Now? In AAA companies you work some super specific field like “junior gameplay combat designer” and you won’t have the opportunity to work on anything else and you’re in a company with 500 people that all have different opinions so anything you suggest will be ignored.

- Comment on Today’s layoffs (Epic Games official post) 2 months ago:
It was pretty popular, but there was way more competition in the PS2/PS3 era, and some studios still made their own engine.
- Comment on Today’s layoffs (Epic Games official post) 2 months ago:
How about they stop fucking milking Fortnite and makes something else…
Eh… Epic isn’t really a game development company anymore, Fortnite just happened to pop off before Unreal Engine became the defacto engine for large scale games and CGI in television/movies. They’re gonna keep working on Fortnite but it’s clear their focus is UE6 - I doubt they’re going to make another game ever again.

I have no idea how people put up with it, my hand starts hurting 5 minutes into playing MH on the psp. I played maybe 20 minutes total, said “nope”, and never played it again.

Yeah, SD2Vita is the standard and are usually found for ~$6. You put an SD card into it, then slot it into the game card slot to expand your storage.

- Comment on Why Everyone’s Picking Up a PSP Again in 2026 (my article!) 2 months ago:
Whaaaat? The PSP had a great collection of games, you might be thinking of the Vita that had barely anything in it. You got Tekken, God of War spinoffs, Patapon, lots of racing games, metal gear solid, lots of JRPGs, among other things.
Its main issue was the lack of a right stick so many 3D games either didn’t get ported or had horrendous controls (monster hunter…)
- Comment on Why Everyone’s Picking Up a PSP Again in 2026 (my article!) 2 months ago:
Last year I bought a PS Vita and I’d highly recommend that instead if you can find one for cheap! The Vita can natively run PSP games via Adrenaline, and you get the advantage of Vita games and homebrew (and a better screen).
That said, I’m a long time PSP Go lover. It’s basically the PSP in a smaller, pocketable form factor. I would absolutely get that if you can get your hands on one.

I hope so. I played the game last year and everything felt a bit lackluster and janky. It’s a pretty fun game, but I hope 1.0 adds that polish it needs.
