  One of the most depressing things about COVID was learning how selfish most Australians are. Forget everything we like to pretend about community spirit and mateship and all that. People were acting like having a bit of fabric over their mouth was oppression, and taking a month off going to the pub was apparently unbearable.

  More broadly, “the only reason this is still an issue” is we have been dragging our feet on electrification in general. We have known for decades that gas and oil are finite and cause pollution but it’s always someone else’s problem until the prices inevitably go up.

  “Tomato” seems to be a component of a food bank logistics system called “Rootable” which may be fork of an older project called “Food Rescue Robot” (gitlab, github).

  The tomato name collision is probably coincidental.
