I played the original. It’s a good game. Incredibly interesting story. Lots of emotions, characters well thought out. I’m just terrible at finishing any game, so I never got far.

I’m against any kind of kernel level anticheat FOR A GAME.
These kinds of things aren’t there to make then better for you. It’s there to protect investor’s money.
They shouldn’t have access to you’re system and I’d imagine vast majority of people don’t have a clue what this means.

Yeah your game is so important that you get to destroy people’s hardware? Shit should be illegal.

SNES was the greatest console ever. :-)
- Comment on PlayStation Console Owners Launch Class-Action Lawsuit Against Sony Over Tariff Refunds 1 week ago:
The problem will be intent. They had no intent to commit a crime. They obeyed the “law” ( the tarrifs were executive order and not law and that’s why they were illegal ) and when they found out the law was illegal, they want money.
We as consumers get screwed. I don’t think this lawsuit will be won, but they can hope for Sony to settle and those in the suit get like $5 or something laughable, while the attorneys of the suit raking in A LOT of money. But only of the attorneys can get money.
So no. Consumers will basically get fucked over once again.

I’ve only ever played the first and never beat it. It was an interesting game. What were other people’s thoughts on the games?

I like this. Do folks enjoy when others do this? Is this something I should share? Seems like a fun idea.

Techlore has their own Peertube BTW.
This video is on there. You can follow a peertube channel directly from Mastodon or Piefed.
If folks want a peertube account there are many services out there. I personally run tubefree.org for those interested.

They got back to me and said they’re focused on getting their platform up and running at the moment, but it’s something they’re consider in the future.
While it isn’t a win, it’s not a loss. We’re chipping away. Big Tech will die by a billion cuts, and we will help free others. We just need more folks chipping away.
See someone you might think could help, just reach out and ask. The odds are, it’ll be a no. The odds are it’ll be a maybe later. But those odds are getting better and better daily for us. People are waking up.
Speak out. Help those even hear about it for the first time. We’ll get there. We have 30 years to undo. No better time to start than now.

I just messaged them and asked them to invest in their platform and consider the Fediverse. Everyone should reach out to them support@newpress.com and let them know a great way to take the power back is to own your own content.

Double every six months? Yeah. Totally feasible and absolutely not a bubble at all.
- Comment on Elon Musk reveals 2026 launch for his AI game alongside Grok-made garbage 7 months ago:
I honestly can NOT wait for this to be delayed forever or we actually get to see a steaming pile of garbage it actually is. Then Musk will blame the woke left for it sucking somehow.
I seriously don’t see a situation where it releases and it’s even OK. If it does happen then I’ll do something. Like say I was wrong or something else impossible on the internet.

Zen browser is fantastic IMO. Zen is built on Firefox with lots of nice tweaks and changes to make it feel innovative.
- Comment on The real (economic) AI apocalypse is nigh 8 months ago:
I feel for the kid asking him what can we do. One of the books I read from Doctorow, How to Destroy Surveillance Capitalism, I wanted an answer on what we can actually do. And there’s nothing I can do about it.
These problems can only be answered at the governmental level and the US Gov is bought and paid for by these monopolists. The whole book was things that us IT nerds have known and warned about for decades.
Same with Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams. We all knew from the outside that these were corrupt companies and her book reads like a horror for anyone that understands digital privacy rights.
I had to stop reading both of those books. While I’m interested in the topics, the books really need to be in the hands of those people that can do something. But we know they won’t read them anyway.
The only hope I have is that were in the center of the storm and we all come out on the other side wiser and correct course if not, then the shit we’re going through now is about to look like “the good times” and that’s terrifying.
