I think if they replaced all the fight scenes with sex scenes you could be on to something.
- Comment on Want to ‘Optimize’ Your Happiness? This Happiness Expert Says: Don’t. 2 weeks ago:
This was a very worthwhile interview to read thank you. It brings up a lot of things I’ve been wrestling with lately and good to know I’m certainly not singular. Particularly the part about Americans constantly pursuing happiness. I’ve been very critical of people who, for instance, choose to drive a giant truck, because it’s bad for the environment and an eyesore, but if it’s their only source of happiness then how can I begrudge that? Life is not easy and I should consider myself lucky that I’ve found happiness in very simple things or nothings.

Yeah sorry I only really know old pop music which I suppose are all classics by now. ;)

Off the top of my head, Cher - Believe is always a show stopper. Any Madonna, George Michael.
- Comment on Why have we as a society just accepted the increasingly blinding bright lights of cars? 3 weeks ago:
Yes, it’s like the wild west. In addition to the too-bright headlights, I’ve seen trucks with additional bars of lights on top, or one time I saw one with a big ass panel of ultra-bright LEDs right on their front grill. Like what the fuck, if you need that much light you shouldn’t drive, and if you’re being that much of an asshole you certainly shouldn’t. We’ve really been conditioned to accept so much asshole behavior in the USA.

I’m passionate about this issue, between this and the size of the vehicles it has made night driving miserable, I used to love a nice relaxing night drive.
- Comment on To all the men out there. Remember this when you get LUCKY. 3 weeks ago:
This wasn’t even the worst one. Tic Tac Toe I think was a bit more explicit and I heard that at some school dances as well. I never really paid attention personally but when I look at them now it’s like whoa https://genius.com/Kyper-tic-tac-toe-lyrics

My brother had this on vinyl EP so I played it a lot, was also popular for school dances lol. The bassline is still one of the best tbh.

Yes I understand I’m just being a jerk about it.
- Comment on Cambridge student sets fidget spinner world record 3 weeks ago:
Something like that doesn’t exist outside of fidget spinners? I wouldn’t think fidget spinner would be on the cutting edge of research for a thing that has thousands of industrial applications but I’m sure this dude has it cracked.
- Comment on Cambridge student sets fidget spinner world record 3 weeks ago:
Wow what a complete useless feat of engineering, I’m glad there’s people out there working on the tough problems though.
- Comment on What are the solutions to doomerism, and that "can't find love" feeling that I've been seeing on Twitter (specifically a frontend)? 3 weeks ago:
I would suppose that, like I did, those people are focusing on a problem they can’t solve, or are unhappy or unfulfilled in some other way that has nothing to do with what they are complaining about. They have their hearts closed off to whatever it is they need or are looking for. I can’t be more specific because I don’t know what posts you mean because I agree with sylver_dragon there.
- Comment on Half of UK adults say they spend less than three hours a week outside in nature 3 weeks ago:
I’m sure it’s not isolated to the UK either, it’s nothing short of a catastrophe and against human nature. I isolated myself inside for many many years due to depression and now that I’m spending more and more time outside, just literally going outside and sitting and breathing and soaking it all in for some time, makes a massive difference in all aspects of health mental and physical.

Lighten up FFS life isn’t so serious, the world has a real problem with being far too serious and dire. It’s all working and purpose and building and talking and working and it has to be oh so serious, and for what. Time to take life back, enjoy it.

There is a rumor they were launched into fame because Kim’s mom was the one who released that sex tape, with Ray J, who is now a nobody.

Ow big burn to all those MAGA vape store owners who went under because of that decision, though most of them probably sell a bunch of other crap like dodgy thc vapes and “mushroom” gummies.

- Comment on Where are you supposed to put your eyes when you're not using them? 4 weeks ago:
Close them, when you close your eyes nothing else exists. Simply remain in this state of suspended animation / transcendental meditation until you are ready to make your next move. :) Or out a window or at a wall.

- Comment on Fire and ‘sheer volume’: how Britain’s 6m-vape problem is putting recycling under strain 4 weeks ago:
They did the same here, the only ones you can buy now are ones made by the same big tobacco companies people were trying to avoid and are still in business for some reason smh. Anyways, it’s a bad habit since you can hit a vape literally anywhere I was just using it all the time, I feel much better now that I quit, it was useful to quit smoking but now I feel dumb for having vaped so long afterwards, it’s just a lame habit lol.

- Comment on How old is "Keeping up with the Jones's"? Who or what are they? And why do I need to keep up with them? 5 weeks ago:
Pretty old. You don’t, it’s a folly to compare yourself to other people, there’s countless other sayings, proverbs, sutras, koans, etc. saying so, be happy with who you are and what you have, life is not a competition despite all their efforts to make it one.

One time we decided a guy was not fit to be president because he laughed a weird way, he had seemingly everything else going for him until that point where he had this sudden point of very human behavior. People are fickle and weird.

- Comment on Not being culturalist but are Koreans overtly kind? Story inside. 1 month ago:
I’ve found Korean love to share their culture and if you show any interest they will shower you with their culture, it’s very nice. I think it’s pretty common though with a lot of people if you show interest. Food is also a big deal to them since it wasn’t so long ago that Korea went through a major famine, people were starving, so they make sure that their neighbors are fed, which is a lot more than I can say for US.
