- Comment on Give your mouse the finger with this wild cursor control ring — Prolo Ring hits Kickstarter, hoping to transform your finger into the ultimate macro and gesture device 3 days ago:
The battery “exploding” is a secondary concern. If the battery swells in a laptop I am not in any immediate danger. If it swells on a ring it can lead to it being trapped on my finger and potentially causing loss of the digit. I also wouldn’t want to risk a ring catching fire in the process of trying to remove it after it swells.

Do not strap lithium batteries to your finger, are you mad?

You can disable the video stream too.
- Comment on The Steam Controller's stick is upgradeable! 1 week ago:
I’m not sure if it’s the potato quality, the lighting or the controller is just that dirty. Keeping your (no longer in production) controller relatively clean can help with its longevity!

“what we do best” we’re really fucking bad at boycotts, what are you talking about.

- Comment on Full Circle / EA confirm again that skate. will not support Linux, Steam Deck or macOS 4 weeks ago:
EA seem almost malicious the way they're going against the tide of developers supporting Steam Deck / Proton. Online shooters is one thing, but this is a fucking skateboarding game.

It can fit larger models, but does a decent sdk exist for integration with current tools? How fast is it compared to an Nvidia card?
- Comment on UK Withdraws Apple iCloud Backdoor Demand Following US Diplomatic Push 1 month ago:
The first option is unlikely, Apple said no but the UK were probably already speaking to their Five Eyes pals in the US. I don't think they ever expected Apple to relent and it was all just a gambit in the larger picture.
The second option, by far the most likely in my opinion.
The third option, the US doesn't need Apple to cooperate so this also seems unlikely.
Remember, any individual or group of people can be subject to secret gag orders around US intelligence capabilities. Tim Cook can say whatever he says, but you can't believe a word of it as a result.
- Comment on UK Withdraws Apple iCloud Backdoor Demand Following US Diplomatic Push 1 month ago:
Why would the UK do that? My money's on a new deal to get access through US intelligence agencies instead of directly through Apple.
- Comment on Xbox Series X and S: Microsoft Has Reportedly Sold Less Than 30 Million Consoles This Generation 2 months ago:
With the "everything is an Xbox mantra, there's no reason to have a capable PC and an Xbox anymore. I don't mind waiting for PS games on my PC either, leaving only Nintendo still having some appeal.

How is it a "native containerization stack" if they run in VMs. What do they think native means?
- Comment on Why do people hate coldplay? 2 months ago:
I think you're sort of right. It's not simply because they're popular, it's because the popularity means they get inescapable radio play. Over time you resent it more and more.
- Comment on Just over a week on from the last one, there's a fresh Battlefield 6 leak here that shows the return of Rush 3 months ago:
So many of the games I want to play run on Linux now, I no longer have a Windows install available to play this with EAs incompatible anti-cheat. It's a pity, but I'm not going back.
