Yes, this is a possible way to eliminate OpenAI’s rivals and make AI solely in the hands of corporations. It would only benefit in the short term, but be detrimental in the long term.
Another option is that OpenAI has more power and support from large companies, so such a trial would consume more resources and time than what could happen with Midjourney.
