All your points are opportunities. Some should just not be taken immediately. When in Europe, it’s not good to start with traveling earth, think Gallileo. When in America, it’s better to build weapons first before contacting Europe.

First I would seek the attention of the local ruler by cooking interesting dishes with modern knowledge.
Then I would ask him to create an akademy. I don’t know the details but I know what can be known. Intelligent people will reinvent the knowledge.
Some side businesses should make enough money that the akademy and thus further development doesn’t entirely rely on the king.
Build cities with public transport and no cars, because there is no car.
Success.

is this what you mean by first mover advantage?
Yes.

If you make it open source then they can steal it, too.
Why not look at it in positive light? If somebody steals it, they help you popularize the game and they show you another way to implement it.
Of course, first mover advantage, there is some truth to your worries. Still, should you quit because you don’t find a way to implement the game, consider giving it a last chance by opening up the process.

For whatever reason I feel like Musk is waking up to the fact that people really reject his policies. If he is one of the masterminds that could mean that things change.
But it’s more likely that those losses in sales were accepted sacrifices.
And yet, I cannot imagine that things can significantly get worse. The media and economy is controlled, the chat messages can be intercepted. What else could an authoritarian regime want? Why remove the illusion that people are free?
I rather think that the actions taken are just there to make the rightwing voters think that something is done. But their situation cannot improve. But there is also not much more chaos that can be created beyond cripling US producation capacities.
This only leaves bold foreign policy options. My guess would be that it’s time for the Iran invasion.
If it’s actually about creating authoritarianism then the next step is militarising the population. Create a ‘work force’ and have all unemployed people do manual communal work in groups. Also create a civil leader for every block or street.

If you want to open source it you can already open source your documents.
You can publish them and see if others like the idea and join you.
Maybe create a lemmy community to organize people who want to join.

- Comment on What would the world look like if every worker got together and Unionized for a universale wage that helps everyone? Instead of one country trying to screw over another? 1 week ago:
That depends on why the workers unionized.
Companies could restructure and hire everybody as independend contractors, paying for work and not time.
If companies play along, work would move to the most productive areas. Workers would be fired and leave low productive areas and move to where the work is.
Ultimately this should lead to some highly populated areas in the world while the rest is empty.

- Comment on I get that america is failing if it's duty to suppress the rise of fascist but did the rest of the world just put all its eggs in the america basket? 1 week ago:
Yes, because that was the original framing. I guess the West did their own annexing, or OP would have kept the focus on those annexations.
What are the failed Russian annexations?
China did Tibet and tried Vietnam, as far as I know, as well as some Indian disputes. I was wondering if there are more because depending on the country, there were reasons enough for the annexations that an alignment with China was not unreasonable. BRICS shows that those annexations are not show stoppers.

Your tone makes it sound like a major thing but I have never heard of anything troubling about the gay community.

My comment was a reply to this argument:
After the wars, the US sought soft power, not territory. Aligning with them was often a more safe move.
Seems like Russia also didn’t grab new land after the wars.

Gay marriage doesn’t come with the implicit expectation of rising children. Imagine all the frustrated parents struggling with the many obstacles that our societies maintain against rising children and their surpressed realization that they could have defied social expectations and just stayed childlessly happy.
