  And I hate Superman for that reason.

  The hate on Captain Marvel was a bit over the top, but the movie was mid at best. So it didn’t deserve praise, but didn’t deserve the vitriol of fragile dudes either. Just for me it wasn’t good for the same reason Superman wasn’t good.

  I think we’re also forgetting the US Supreme Court probably wouldn’t even do anything resembling enforcing the constitution, as demonstrated by the 5-4 decision lately (barely respected the constitution)

  Shareholders and politics.

  Shareholders for Reddit, for sure, since they went public recently. What made the platform what it is will be censored until shareholders are happy. Users will be a second thought, or already are.

  Politics because billionaires hate to pay taxes, so they’ll do anything to be in the good graces of politicians.

  I’m glad we have alternatives now at least.

  Here’s what it comes down to: negotiations based on how much money the industry makes from their work. Because without the artist, comedian, etc., their profit vanish.

  Now understand that every worker in the world could realise the same thing. That’s what unions are for, having that weight to give the employees of a company leverage and ask for a bit more of the pie that wouldn’t exist without their work. Why do you think businesses fight unions so damn hard? Because it’s easier to distract or scare enough of a worker group, mostly compared to a single artist.

  A tactic by big money hungry studios to get you paying every few months or weeks to get meaningless content in their games, plus access to new meaningless tasks to complete (often referred to as “dailies”) to give you a few more meaningless items in game, on top of attempting to addict you with said tasks to come back for more.

  Wish I could paint it more positively, but the gaming industry is heading towards enshitification and this is a big part of it, extracting more money without providing much more content.
