- Comment on Nick Clegg says asking artists for use permission would ‘kill’ the AI industry 1 week ago:
IMO tech bros’ main goal for this technology is to use it to manipulate public opinion on social media. It is perfect for it and the “daydreaming” (bullshitting) is perfect.
Notice that all social media are involved in it, Twitter was “sold” to xAI, the recent incident with Grok about South African apartheid. The 10 year ban to regulate it by states etc.
They talk about it increasing productivity (and are hoping that it could be used for that too), but if people would know it is meant for disinformation, they would be even more against skipping copyright for it.

I think the primary goal of LLM is to use it on social media to influence public opinion.
Notice that all companies that have social media are heavily invested in it. Also the recent fiasco with Grok taking about South African apartheid without being asked shows that such functionality is being added.
I think talking about it to replace white collar jobs is a distraction. Maybe it can some, but the “daydreaming” (such a nice word for bullshit) I think makes the technology not very useful on that direction.

First of all, this is about being PoC not about having certain political view.
Or do you think there is a reason that people with different skin color vote certain way?
Second, if this was the community I encountered some time ago, then it was mere tagging so people couldn’t pretend to be someone who they aren’t. You still could post there without being black.
But anyway this was about political groups. I don’t see “leftists” subreddits requiring a purity check like I see on nearly every conservative subreddit.
- Comment on Oof 2 weeks ago:
You mean tag users and automatically block comments from users that weren’t approved?
- Comment on Oof 2 weeks ago:
Reality has a “left bias”.
This is why all conservative subreddits have to curate who can post there because it easily shows that they are really a fringe group that don’t reflect the general population.

That single letter has very special meaning to him. On every vertex add a perpendicular line going clockwise and you get his favorite symbol.
If you look X in ASCII table you get 88, which represents his favorite phrase often said with the “my heart goes to you all” gesture.
- Comment on Max changing name back to HBO 2 weeks ago:
The title is misleading for those who were unaware of the branding. They renamed the service to just “Max” 2 years ago and are now returning to the name “HBO Max”.

Yeah, you couldn’t do this badly, because you are just an amateur. That guy in the video, won multiple club championships on his own golf course and bankrupted 4 casinos. That requires special talent.

Then you purchased a wrong game and should just play solitaire.
Witcher 3 is absolutely great, but if you just go through only the main quest, won’t explore the world and won’t do side quests then I can see you ending up disappointed.
What I like is that side quests can impact the main quest and even the ending.

I noticed a bad trend with my colleagues who use copilot, chatgpt etc. They not only use it to write code, but also trust it with generally poor design decisions.
Another thing is that those people also hate working on existing code, claiming it is communicated and offering to write their (which also ends up complicated) version of it. I suspect it’s because copilot doesn’t help as much when code is more mature.

Well the 3% is just interesting tidbit, but the video should be watched by everyone.
The main point is that we are being trained to not think independently and let the sites tell us what to think. Our current political situation is exactly because of this.

Also my take is that unlike Facebook, Instagram and others with YouTube at least you still can use subscribers page, on Facebook for example you need to use something like clean my feeds grease monkey script.

I am not talking about some random comments here. It was well known that 2024 was the peak of what Russia could get with their war economy and it is showing that it indeed was true, they significantly slowed down and just now trump gave them a help line.

It is insane, because he is in position where putin is scared of him yet he still is helping him even though to Russia US is a sworn enemy.
This is essentially selling all of the country for some personal deal.
- Comment on 'We've lost a partner and a friend': Ukrainians somber as U.S. partnership disintegrates 3 months ago:
The reason US became so strong and rich was because of developing trade and for trade it needs peace.
Without it the US will become irrelevant and eventually weak enough that other super powers that develop because of this move will take over.
The war was winnable and Ukraine had upper had until this change, it was projected that Russia would run off resources this year.
In fact of we didn’t restrict Ukraine in 2022 and give them full help out could end that year, as Russia was acting very incompetent initially and didn’t have time to set up their defenses.
